As our SCM and Release Engineer working from our downtown San Francisco, CA offices your immediate objective will be to take ownership of our SCM system (Subversion) and streamline the build/release process that we currently have in place. Your well-rounded background in software configuration management, ideally gained from working in a start up like environment, and your process-oriented mindset will be the key to your success in this role. To accomplish your objectives you will draw on the following skills and experiences acquired to date:
- Solid experience with source control software (preferably Subversion) and managing a large multi release/multi branch/multi project source control environment
- Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle and a short release cycle (two weeks per iteration), software configuration management practices, and release management methodologies
- Experience using build and development tools including ANT, Ivy, Bamboo, Maven, Hudson and/or others to maintain an automated build system, as well as strong knowledge of the build/release process including product installation/configuration and system/unit testing
- Scripting experience (shell, Python, etc.) and experience with Mac and Linux OS
