We are looking for a few cameramen with HD videocameras to tape for about 4hrs (actual filming time will be probably about 2hrs) this Saturday, Nov 7th from noon to 4pm at the Moscone Center. This is a Learning Annex event and you will be filming a real estate investor giving his presentation to the crowd, which will be at least 1000 or more people. Because of this, the camera getting the close up frontal shot may be a fair distance away so for that one we need an HD camera that has a pretty good Fujinon/Canon 17x lens that won't get noticeably distorted/soft or lose too much exposure at that focal range. The other HD cameras will be near the stage (10x is good enough) and get different angles of the speaker including a side profile shot and over the shoulder, and get shots of the crowd and closeups of people's faces in the crowd. In addition to the main presentation, we need to get some interviews/testimonials from people who just heard his presentation as they are leaving so you need either a hand held wireless to hand to people or at the very least a good camera mounted shot-gun mic. The lighting should be fine, but for the testimonials, if you have a camera light then bring it just in case. The pay is negotiable depending on type of HD camera and experience.
We have been shooting with a Panasonic HMC-150 which is noticeably higher quality than HDV, so we would like to avoid using any HDV cameras. Cameras being considered include: Panasonic HMC-150, HPX-170, HVX-200, JVC HM700, HM100, Sony EX1, EX3. We still need one camera with a good 17x lens, so if you have an HD camera that has similar quality to our list and at least a 17x then let me know. (HDCam and the like is overkill for our needs and would probably blow our budget, sorry to say)
