SCREENWRITING ONE WORKSHOP
The main objective is to create a strong, well developed idea for a feature length screenplay, then workshop this idea into a perfectly functional treatment. A screenplay is the blue print of a film, thus a treatment is the blue print of a screenplay. The end goal for each student at the close of the 8 week period is to have a treatment for a feature length script which will give them the proper platform to begin writing their screenplay.

Testimonial by screenwriting workshop student Amanda Jaramillo -
"The SFSDF Screenwriting Workshop was the perfect mix of creative inspiration and pragmatic advice. It exceeded my expectations from day one and grew from there. The weekly exchange of ideas and problem solving with writers who shared a passion for film was both energizing and humbling. James Savoca's leadership and commitment to the craft, set a tone for the class that evoked camaraderie and a get-it-done work ethic. The caliber of the students I was surrounded by forced me to put forth my best effort every week. It was one of the most challenging and rewarding environments I've ever experienced and has left me with a treatment I am proud of and tools I will use in future endeavors."
