Background:
ODC is a groundbreaking contemporary arts institution operating in San Francisco’s Mission District for 38 years. ODC has a world-class contemporary dance company, a community dance theater, and a comprehensive dance school with over 200 classes a week. Known nationally for its entrepreneurial savvy as well as artistic innovation, the organization is unique for its fully integrated arts vision and community-based programming.

The Marketing Analyst Director will create methods to capture and record data, track results of marketing initiatives, create plans to maximize income, oversee the data analysis of all three components of the organization (dance company, theater, school) and work to increase revenue through on and offline efforts. The Marketing Analyst will work in tandem with the Marketing Director to institute strategies to meet revenue goals and identify new business opportunities. The successful candidate will possess the following: a minimum of 3-5 years experience in data/business analysis (arts-related a plus), including sales tracking, audience research and analysis, and analysis of marketing initiatives; solid understanding of relevant communication disciplines (direct marketing, online, advertising, social networks); solid understanding of systems to increase profitability and gain new business through pricing, incentive offers, scheduling and niche marketing; solid ability to present analysis graphically, orally and in writing; ability to be effective in a fast-paced environment; strong business-building orientation; strong team orientation with the ability to participate in the implementation of regular marketing campaigns which will not be data-based work.

General responsibilities (70%) include but are not limited to:

- Instigate methods to track sales for school, theater and dance company and build institutional documents for ongoing reporting
- Analyze sales trends looking for insight into pricing, scheduling and buying patterns
- Work with Marketing Director to create annual marketing plans to meet revenue goals and identify new business opportunities
- Monitor web analytics and work with marketing team to maximize traffic to site
- Project manage a four-year marketing grant, monitoring benchmarks and gathering data for reporting
- Develop strategies to track all marketing initiatives for school, theater and dance company and analyze for effectiveness
- Develop strategies to monetize social networking efforts both for contributed and earned income
- Oversee ongoing audience research working with Marketing Director for survey creation and implementation
- Analyze surveys codifying demographic information and advising on new sales strategies
- Research and report on current industry standards for marketing metrics; click through rates, web traffic numbers, email open counts, etc.

General responsibilities (30%) include but are not limited to:

- Assist with implementation of marketing campaigns for school, theater and dance company including material distribution, researching and initiating partnerships for new audience development, web site updates, booking of media, working at events and performances, assisting with newsletter writing or social network content

Qualifications:
- Excellent data analysis skills (3-5 years experience)
- Excellent ability to report on analysis in written, oral and graphic form
- Proven experience in data analysis leading to strategies that increase revenues
- Previous marketing experience
- Computer software skills that enable data analysis on a high level
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a marketing team
- Ability to work some nights and weekends as performance schedules require

Preferred Qualifications:

- Web analytics and adwords experience
- Web content management or graphic design experience
- Marketing campaign experience (direct marketing, online, advertising)
- Facebook, You Tube, My Space, Twitter and other social network online experience
- Preferred ability to lift up to 35lbs
- Experience in dance, theatre or other cultural or performing arts
- The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, initiative, good sense of humor, high energy level, and a sincere dedication to the mission of ODC. S/he should be innovative and willing to explore new ideas

Working Conditions:
ODC’s offices are located in a state-of-the dance facility that includes five dance studios, a Zen rock garden, full kitchen, showers, Healthy Dancer’s Clinic, art gallery and town hall meeting room.

Job Compensation and Benefits:
Salary commensurate with experience – please include a salary history and expectations in resume. Benefits include full medical insurance, two weeks paid vacation, 12 annual paid holidays (includes a Dec. 24 - Dec. 31 company-wide break) and one day of personal time off.
