EBS Demand Planner Roles and Responsibilities
General Description: Owner of inventory and drives partnership between customers / account services team, sales management team, key customers, multi-functional stakeholders such as Supply Planners, IT, Product Development and Marketing team, and Finance. Primary responsibility is to ensure forecasts that the organization transacts against meets the sales and financial goals of the business unit while optimizing inventory utilization.
• Process Related Responsibilities
o Owns the S&OP process
Creates the baseline forecast with various techniques in utilizing historical data, current order book trends, and statistical models to facilitate the agreement of a consensus business plan to transact against
• Bottom Up SKU level, Top Down product group level, and Customer level forecasting
Work closely with business managers for each product category to arrive at the best forecast to drive warehousing stocking decisions
o Owns the Inventory Purchase Process
Purchase Requisition Review and release to Supply Planners
o Owns Demand to Forecast deviation review and adjustment in identifying risks and opportunities
o Owns E&O inventory Review Board Process so to identify necessary sell plans and financial reserve recommendation
o Owns the identification of materials for the quarterly inventory hold process
o Owns the Sales Analysis process – identification of risks and opportunities with the forecast to demand translation
o Analyze and document key drivers in forecast to demand variation
o Supports the annual financial plan and budgeting process
• KPI and Performance Related Diagnostics Responsibilities
o Bi-Weekly Inventory Forecast for Corporate
o E&O Inventory Analysis
o Forecast Accuracy Analysis
o Demand Variation Analysis – Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly
o SKU Productivity Analysis – ABC/XYZ
• System Related Responsibilities
o Maintains Planning master data and Planning Structure in SAP
o Maintains MM/PP status, SD status, and Availability Check of materials
o MRP ownership in setting Planning time fence and MRP schedule
o Safety Stock Methodology usage, timing, and adjustment to accommodate seasonal needs
o Recommends continuous system enhancement opportunities to improve processes within the Demand Planning group
o Participates in the EBS Demand Planning Focus Group
