Announcing two extraordinary FREE performances by Uganda’s Matsiko Children’s Choir in the Santa Cruz area December 3rd and 5th

Established in 2003, the Matsiko CHOIR is comprised of 25 orphaned or at risk children ranging in age from 6 to 14. These children have suffered the loss of one or both parents to HIV and related diseases. Despite their loss they sing of hope and joy.
Matsiko songs are written by music director and co-founder Sam Straxy, who also teaches the singers traditional dance.
Choir performances include dance as well as lively drumming, taught by Ronnie Kabogozza, the foremost drumming instructor in Uganda.

The Matsiko Choir will perform at the New Brighton School in Capitola on Thursday December 3 at 7 PM
and at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Soquel ( off Park Avenue) on Saturday December 5 at 3 PM.
