The Store design position will lead the planning and development of new and remodel store projects. Candidate will create, standardize and execute plans and schematics drawings to integrate merchandising, visual merchandise and brand elements. Must be proficient at auto cad and related planning tools.
Job Description
o Develop fixture sets for potential spaces, check plans for accuracy and adherence to West Marine standards,
o Coordinate and track plans to internal and external partners, perform all design work to support Store Development and Visual Merchandising. Independent project initiation for support of store operations.
o Also manage and track the New Product Rollout (NPR) process by providing space allocation information and adjusting individual store adjacency plans as necessary providing excellent customer service to all supporting departments. Projects include completion of merchandise adjacency plans for existing stores per the established adjacency planning standards. Maintenance of the integrity and consistency of store merchandising floor plans. Manage and track plan creation and distribution. Maintain West Marine presentation standards.
Qualifications:
o Minimum of 5-7 years current retail design experience with national level retailer.
o Minimum of 7 years Experience in store design, architectural finishes and auto cad
o Advanced Microsoft Office computer skills a must. CAD background and or construction experience is required.
o Knowledge of materials and relative cost to assist in value engineering
o Experience with 3D modeling, Photoshop and the Full Adobe Suite a plus.
o Experience in both hard and soft goods retail is preferred
o An Associate or Bachelor degree in architecture or design a plus.
o A candidate with recreational boating experience and familiarity with boating supply products strongly sought after.
o Candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
