GCNM has an immediate opening for a Support Specialist to work in out of our Santa Cruz campus. The Support Specialist is responsible for Admissions and Records Processing. This is a full time opportunity with duties and responsibilities that include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists students in the admissions process, processes enrollments and maintains enrollment records.
• Orients students to program organization
• Assists with the student and graduate documentation needs. Performs routine clerical and administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, providing information to caller, performing record audits for recordkeeping requirements, processing exam materials regarding the clerical aspects, etc.
• Assist in maintaining inventory and processing incoming/outgoing orders.
• Assist with student payments, needed collections, and assists students with financial aid applications and processing.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supports the organization’s mission, vision and values at all times. This means holding self accountable for applying these principles when working with management, employees, students, affiliates, vendors and all other business contacts; and conducting self in a manner that reflects credit on Global College of Natural Medicine.
• Establishes and maintains effective channels of communication with the Director, co-workers, contractors, clients, affiliates, vendors and all other business contacts.
• Uses equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner, follows established safety procedures, uses appropriate safeguards and observes common sense rules of safety in all on-the-job activities.
• Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information as required.
• Demonstrates a commitment to quality improvement and the philosophy of continuous improvement. Identifies and responds actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all concerns; participates as team player in all phases of the organization, and is open and responsive to change.
• Work with outside consultants and vendors in the administration of current and new contracts.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four year college or university preferred (or equivalent of education and experience), with a concentration in Business Administration or related field; three to five years related Administrative experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, clients, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables, occasionally in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
