We are redoing our web presence. We have almost completed the information architecture, graphic design, and implementation in a simple CMS using our existing content.
We are looking for a highly experienced editor and writer to re-organize and edit existing material, and write introductions, summaries, and other sections. You will help identify what’s needed, and may help others draft technical content that you will wordsmith.
This is a short-term contract job. There may be ongoing part-time work. You can work remotely.
We help organizations make "green decisions": We offer analytic software and consulting to help organizations assess and reduce their energy use and environmental footprint. Our clients include start-up companies, large companies, and the US government. We are small (8) people, and growing.

MUST HAVE
• Extensive experience writing and editing marketing and technical content for web sites, with a portfolio you can share
• Ability to write and edit information, marketing (no hard sell), and technical material with clarity and verve
• Ability to think from customers’ perspective
• Attention to detail -- e.g. grammar, proofing, and making sure material is consistent.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage project tasks and work with the team
• Basic skills using writing software, web tools, CMS, but you don’t need to be an html or Dreamweaver guru.
NICE TO HAVE
• Skills and experience in finding or creating, editing, and formatting graphics and images.
• Experience conducting simple and rapid usability testing.
• Experience of quantitative analysis and modeling – e.g. a degree in science or engineering
• Technical knowledge of energy, environment, and sustainability issues
• A passion to help make our world greener.
