JOB OVERVIEW
The Online Content Manager will be responsible for day-to-day web content planning, writing, editing, and site review on Symantec’s customer-facing Business marketing web site.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Receives and prioritizes web content requests from internal stakeholders.
• Manages online product launches and theme page / microsite development projects.
• Works closely with the online production manager to coordinate web production tasks.
• Writes and edits copy for web pages, banners, and promotional imagery.
• Assists regional web publishers with coordination of web content localization efforts.
• Ensures that web content adheres to the site segment editorial style.


REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Superlative skills in writing and editing for the web.
• Solid understanding of online marketing strategies and concepts.
• Substantial knowledge of the enterprise software industry.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with marketeers, web producers, visual designers, multimedia producers, and information architects.
• Ability to plan, manage, and execute on simultaneous projects under tight deadlines in a team environment.
• Excellent eye for detail, consistency, and accuracy.
• Basic skills in HTML and web production.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• Three to five years' experience as a web site editor or online content manager.
• Experience working for an enterprise software company in an online marketing capacity.
• Experience using a web content management system, especially Interwoven TeamSite.


PREFERRED EDUCATION
• Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, or equivalent.


SUCCESS FACTORS
The Online Content Manager will need to work effectively in a team environment and should be able to collaborate with a variety of functional groups throughout the company. The candidate should be highly organized, diplomatic, have an eye for detail, be able to execute on several efforts at once, and deliver on daily web content tasks without close supervision.
