We are currently looking for a professional dispatcher to work in our Santa Clara office. You will be responsible for coordinating the daily movement and delivery of construction equipment throughout Northern California.
We need someone that has top notch communications skills and someone who knows the area, ins and outs, the best ways to get around, the best times, access to construction sites, etc.
This job will include:
-Establishing and maintaining an accurate database of all equipment
-Timely reporting on the status of equipment and deliveries
-Creating and maintaining daily logs
-Processing all incoming phone/radio messages
-Keeping track of all equipment activities and/or problems
-Negotiating with outside trucking and equipment rental services on pricing, pick-up and delivery times
-Dispatching drivers for pickups, fueling points, routing and deliveries
-Monitors and verify trucking routes through GPS tracking
-Complete tickets and ensure that quantities and qualities are correct
-Ensures that all drivers know their destination, how to get there, and any special delivery instructions prior to leaving the yard
-Responsible to report incidents, accidents, injuries to Director of Safety
-Responsible for coordinating maintenance schedules with the Shop on assigned tractors, trailers and related equipment
You must have:
-At least 5 years of direct or related work experience dispatching construction equipment
-Ability to complete all scheduled assignments in a timely fashion
-Ability to multi-task and provide rapid responses to requests
-Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational/planning skills
-Intermediate computer skills MS Office
-Working knowledge of Laser Dispatch and DataMaxx - helpful
-Analytical/problem solving skills with the ability and knowledge to trouble shoot equipment issues
-Strong working knowledge of construction equipment
-Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
-Accountability, ability to accept responsibility and account for ones action
-Comfortable in a fast paced, open office, high volume call environment
-Working knowledge of regulations, including DOT, OSHA and EPA as related to the construction industry
-Ability to follow and carry out oral and written instructions.
-Must be Bilingual English/Spanish
