Hi! We are Thank Dog! Bootcamp, the Nation's first obedience and fitness bootcamp for owners to do with their dogs. www.thankdogbootcamp.com. It's an outdoor exercise program that combines cardio training, weight training, and obedience training all at the same time. It's lead by one physical fitness trainer and one dog trainer, leading both people and dog in the exercises, while teaching the dog how to behave.

Our proven program was developed by 2 dog trainers, the owners of Thank Dog! Training, and an experienced physical fitness trainer.

We are currently looking for: PERSONAL FITNESS TRAINERS and DOG TRAINERS to open up and run our new locations in the South Bay (Los Altos/Palo Alto/Mountain View). We are also looking for trainers who would be interested in opening up a second location in San Francisco. Once we get these locations up and running, we plan on expanding to locations such as Berkeley, Lafayette, Walnut Creek, Danville, Hillsborough, Burlingame, Atherton, Redwood City, Sunnyvale, Saratoga, Los Gatos, San Jose, even Carmel--so if this job appeals to you and you are currently living in or around these areas, we encourage you to respond ASAP!!

ALL applicants should be available to begin training on Monday, December 14th for 1 week of intensive training. We understand that training will be held during the holiday season so if there are conflicts with scheduling and you cannot make it, you need to let us know NOW.

If you are applying as a personal trainer, you MUST:

  • Have proven experience- we take our workouts seriously.
  • Be willing to follow a specific routine made for every class. All bootcamps run the same routine daily. (We are always open to new ideas for the workouts, so we welcome your input as well.)
  • Have a love for dogs as it's a major key point of our bootcamp.
  • Be down-to-earth and have a great sense of humor! We like to make the workouts challenging, fun, light-hearted and motivating!!

  • If you are applying as a dog trainer, you:

  • MUST have experience working with/training dogs. Further, at ThankDog! Bootcamp we rely on training collars--we DO NOT treat train, since this would defeat the purpose of our nutrition and exercise program. Therefore we are looking for dog trainers that would be comfortable and familiar training with corrective collars.
  • MUST love dogs and please DO NOT apply if you're just looking for a job and you stumbled across this ad. We're looking for someone who has a passion and a thirst for knowledge when it comes to dogs, dog psychology, and obedience training.
  • MUST be willing to use training collars.
  • Are physically fit to keep up with the class and very motivated as you will be dealing with a max of 20 dogs at a time. (A second dog trainer will be added if the class exceeds 20)
  • Personal Trainer and Dog Trainer Duties include:

  • Conducting 1 hr consultation/obedience class at the park before any client begins.
  • Preparing before class-(Reading the routine so you know what you're doing)
  • Arrive early for set-up and stay after for clean-up.
  • Marketing
  • Keep it fun and motivating!

  • Our bootcamp is SUPER fun and rewarding. However, itís also VERY strict. Our #1 priority for our clients is to ensure a safe, controlled, and organized class. Therefore, we expect both trainers to keep it that way as itís a very high energy environment with lots of different temperaments (both dogs and people! HA!) running around. In the past few months, some dog bootcamps opened up after they heard about our program. Because they didn't take the time to develop and understand what they were getting into, a dog was mauled due to the lack of training and proper handling. Dog Training is a serious piece to our bootcamp, so we canít express enough the importance of following our program exactly the way it's designed.

We've been doing this for almost a year now and still wake up everyday excited for class. It's so fun and challenging, our clients love love love it! We leave everyday feeling like we did something good, like we accomplished something big. And, we have. Now our clients get to train, workout, and workout their dog all in one hour before they go to work. It just doesn't get any better than that! If you want to be apart of this new craze and make history with us in your neck of the woods, respond to the email above. We look forward to hear from you!

    To apply:

    1. Send resume or tell us about your experience, ESPECIALLY with dogs to cassie@thankdogbootcamp.com
    2. Put "Dog Trainer" or "Fitness Trainer" in the subject line of which you're applying for.
