THE WAVE MEDIA was founded in 1999 and publishes The Wave Magazine, a fortnightly produced lifestyle / entertainment publication and its online equivalent, www.thewavemag.com. The Wave Magazine is distributed to more than 2,000 locations throughout the Silicon Valley.


SUMMARY:

We are seeking experienced Display Advertising Account Executives with exceptional track records in magazine and/or newspaper print advertising sales. If you have the willingness to work hard in a fun yet challenging environment, we offer an opportunity to develop a lucrative career in sales.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· As Account Executive, you will obtain and close print advertising as well as build and maintain ongoing relationships with key customers
· Includes cold calling and proactively following-up on leads, phone inquiries, referrals and research.
· Familiarity with the Silicon Valley
· Attends sales seminars, sales meetings and other educational activities to stay up-to-date on the latest company and market developments and trends
· Willingness to meet and exceed your goals and work in a GREAT environment!


REQUIREMENTS:

· We are looking for someone who will make an immediate impact with at least 1 to 3 years of display advertising sales experience and market knowledge at a regional print periodical.
· We prefer local candidates with proven local market experience and experience working within an assigned territory. Professional and personal affiliations within a territory are a plus.
· Candidates must also be deadline driven, goal oriented, tenacious, articulate, and love the rush of a fast-paced environment
· Strong work ethic and highly proficient at cold calling, prospecting, qualifying leads and closing the sale.
· Highly motivated self-starter who is organized, flexible, performs well under pressure and has excellent people skills
· Capable of local travel in excess of 75% of time.
· Excellent verbal, communication, networking, negotiating and prospecting skills are essential.
· Skilled in the usage of the Internet and Microsoft Office.
