Network and Systems Administrator (san jose north)

Do you find yourself working twice as hard as the next guy in IT or Network infrastructure and no one seems to care?

Are you working your tail off in a job where you are making half as much as all your friends who are doing the same job as you but in a different company?

If the answer is yes to the above or it just seems time for a change, we have a terrific opportunity for the right person!

We are looking for the right Network/System Administration pro who is available immediately if not sooner!

We’d prefer someone who is willing to work on a 1099/Consultant basis but we’ll entertain a full-timer who doesn’t want to do the paperwork and just be on our books as well.

This is a senior level person with a Network emphasis and we need someone who has the following:

Personal Characteristics:

- Strong English language and communication skills
- Someone who loves to work independently and takes personal ownership of issues
- Some experience in IT management, enough to help you interact “smartly” with managers even though this is a technical position.

Networking skills

- Juniper, Cisco, and Extreme experience
- ASA/PIX configuration experience
- Experience with QoS, BGP, Muticast traffic
- Experience with VPNs
- Wireless LANs
- VoIP (would be a plus)

Linux Administration:

- NIS / NFS / DNS / Sendmail
- System automation tools
- Deployment tools - Kickstart, Imaging
- Monitoring tools - Nagios, MRTG, ManageEngine
- Scripting ability - Bash / Perl

Windows Administration

- Active Directory, Group Policies
- MS Exchange 2003
- Symantec Backup Exec
- Workstation / laptop deployment

We’ll need you for at least 40 hours a week and probably more. You would be working in one location, not skipping all over town and the company is very stable, not a fly-by-night startup you can’t rely on for employment.

The BEST news is that you will be working at a compensation rate that will be better than pretty much anything you will see on Craigslist or elsewhere for that matter.

We need the right person and we’re willing to pay a lot for that person!

If its time for a change in your professional life and you want to work in a really great work situation please respond to our posting with your resume and let’s talk!
Company Overview
Canesta, Inc. has developed a revolutionary, low-cost electronic perception technology that enables everyday devices to “see.” Now, ordinary electronic devices such as videogame consoles gain the ability to understand and react to objects and individuals in their nearby surroundings in real time at extremely low cost, without the need for gloves or special handheld controllers. The company has achieved this innovation by reducing three-dimensional (“3D”) image sensing -- a core enabling capability -- to a single, low-cost chip which can be manufactured using a standard CMOS process. Canesta primarily focuses on two complementary markets: consumer electronics market for near-term rapid revenue growth and the automotive market for long-term stable profitability. Future opportunities exist in security, robotics, and other industries; the possibilities are endless. The Company is headquartered in Silicon Valley and has additional offices in Japan
