As part of the Equinix's Network Team, he/she will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Equinix's network products. He/she will also be responsible for planning and execution of complex test scenarios on a diverse network platforms and topologies. This position reports to the Director of Carrier Interconnection Architecture.

Responsibilities:
Conducting ECEE (E-NNI) testing with carriers.
Developing detailed test plans and analyzing test results
Work with internal and external teams to perform proof of concept testing and verification during beta deployments
New hardware and software certification and testing
Writing detailed methods of procedures (MOPs) for internal and external working groups
Ability to work nights and weekends as required to support network activities
Maintain a broad knowledge of current and emerging state-of-the-art network systems technologies, architectures, and products
Perform detailed, post event analysis of unusual events, and direct needed procedure or process changes in response
Documenting standards

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent employment experience
3 to 5 years in experience in operating carrier or service provider networks
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work well independently and on a team
Well developed troubleshooting and analytical skills
Excellent understanding of Layer 2 networking including Ethernet frame structure and Carrier Ethernet protocols
Excellent understanding of optical propagation and multi-channel systems design
Experience designing or operating networks including DWDM, Layer 2 and MPLS switching systems
Working knowledge of Agilent and IXIA test equipment
Experience with various EMS systems operation and features
Good understanding of SONET protocols, testing methods and protection and restoration systems
Working knowledge of layer 1,2 and 3 equipment vendors
Programming in Perl, Expect, TCL/TK languages
UNIX systems support
Network monitoring experience
Network security experience
