The fact is the economy sucks because it has been strong (unrealistically) for the last 20 years. The 80 and 90's, besides the mini 90's recession were all Bull markets. Then 2000 hit and we had some completely unrealistic wealth creation, and now we have the Bear / Recession. Kind like if someone does ounces of cocaine or crystal meth for years and then their brain can't create serotonin so it takes a few years for the receptors in the brain to repair. Nobody gets high for free.
If you really want a job, which I don't believe you actually do, then get one. I know someone who has changed jobs 5 different times in this piece of shit economy because guess what, they are friendly; perhaps unlike you and I. I would spend my time in education / paired with aggressively seeking a job. If you really want something you can obtain it; but you have to feel it is justified inside. If you don't feel it is justified inside, it isn't going to happen. Like I would like to be married and have children, but it isn't going to happen until I make more money; because it just doesn't feel right to me. If it doesn't feel right for you to get a job, because so many people are jobless, hey you ain't getting a job man. Maybe you don't really need a job, since you are giving up. And PS, I'd rather live under a bridge or incur debt then take unemployment and suck from the system. Peace.

I’ve got a bachelor’s degree and a mater’s degree in engineering and I’ve been unemployed for over a year now. Now the only thing that I can do is mark myself as a displaced worker with EED so that I can begin training for a new career. I can’t believe this is happening to me. I would have thought a college education would have prevented me from having to stand in line with blue collar workers and now take classes with blue collar workers as if I never went to college. This is unbelievable. Why did we give all our technology to China, move all engineering to China (yeah, I know it’s cheaper, but what about the American people? We need to eat too.). This isn’t any different from the 80s when all the autoworkers were losing jobs, but now it’s engineers with perfectly good education, experience and technical know-how are unemployable and displaced from the workforce.
