Job Description.
Develop, program, maintain, and improve all SMT processes.
Analyze yield of SMT processes to ensure process capabilities and throughput.
Analyze SMT defects to determine likely failure modes.
Support SMT line
Coordinate planning and scheduling of individual projects with cross functional teams.
Create procedures, Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPIs) for assembly and acceptance requirements.
Perform analysis of required assembly & repair process steps and logistic needs to meet capacity requirements.
Conduct DOE (Design of Experiments) to optimize processes, reduce defects and increase machine utilization.
Determine time standards for accurate sales quotation and line efficiencies.
Recommend DFM (Design for Manufacturability) solutions for reliability, quality, delivery schedule and cost.
Review & provide feedback to Program Mgt and Sales for discrepancies between cost/pricing & time estimates.
Determine root cause of RMAs and line defects. Recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain a company-wide annual calibration & maintenance system.
Perform hands-on programming on CircuitCAM for Fuji CP4-2 & Mydata, KIC2k Thermal profiler.
Perform hands-on trouble-shooting of assembly equipment and request field service when required.
Perform hands-on electro-mechanical assembly, ECO rework, BGA rework, bench testing and troubleshooting.
Maintain a company-wide Lead Free program: Training, Documentation, Processes, Machines & Materials.
Customer resource for technical and process issues.
Minimum Requirements
Broad and extensive experience required in the following areas: SMT placement, solder reflow, wave solder, DFM, NPI, solder printing, lead-free and ROHS compliant process knowledge.
Extensive, hands-on knowledge of SMT (pick and place), reflow, and solder stencil printing equipment.
Associates or Bachelors degree in an electronics related field.
