PlayPhone is seeking to hire a Creative Designer/Graphic Designer to support our growing team and develop consumer-facing web, mobile and print marketing materials. PlayPhone is a fast-paced, rapidly growing company that is based in San Jose and helps some of the largest entertainment companies in the world create and deploy mobile web and entertainment products. As a key player in PlayPhone’s team, the Creative Designer will report to our production team in the San Jose office and be responsible for developing collateral marketing materials for our services, including web mockups, landing pages, banners and promotional graphics.
PlayPhone’s core services include mobile content distribution and powering subscription based mobile entertainment portals for major partners including ABC Television, NBC Universal, Turner Broadcasting, BET, National Geographic, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Real Networks and many more. Ideal candidates will have a meaningful portfolio, experience working in a fast paced environment and knowledge of the delicate nature associated with major brand/entertainment relationships.
Job Summary
PlayPhone’s Creative Designer is responsible for creative design and concept development for online and print marketing materials that support our mobile entertainment services. This includes preparation of detailed mockups, flash widgets, banners, print and other creative marketing collateral that may feature major Hollywood and entertainment brands.
Responsibilities
• Execute design projects for Playphone’s media and entertainment partners. Provide support to creative group, business development, and marketing
• Deliverables include Web sites, landing pages, banners, emails, interactive promotions, and other projects as assigned.
• Candidates should possess a sophisticated visual style, and interest in media, entertainment and/or mobile services.
• Develop creative solutions for online, print, television, and event projects
• Support goals of performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability
• Ability to take on project revisions in short notice and effectively communicate project specs and status

Qualifications
 1-4 years of web/print/multimedia design experience
 BA in Art, Design, Multimedia or related field equivalent
 Proficient in Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator is a Must
 Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
 Strong knowledge of design fundamentals, layout, typography, print and web specifications
 Ability to work effectively and multitask
 Product evaluation, analysis, and QA skills
 Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills
 Ability to work under minimal supervision
 Ability to take initiatives
 Must be very articulate, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and able to explain abstract concepts effectively
 Must be effective in prioritizing tasks and responsibilities
 Ability to understand site functionality and customer expectations of assigned responsibilities
 Ability to apply user interface and interactive design best practices to projects
 Project Management experience is a must.
 Macintosh experience highly desired
