CORPORATE COUNSEL, Major Technology Company (Exclusive) – Silicon Valley, California
Our client, a highly innovative company producing globally-known consumer technology products, has exclusively engaged us to help them identify a promising, top-credentialed technology or transactional attorney who can quickly become a key member of its legal team. This Counsel will work with an interdisciplinary team of business, operational, engineering, marketing and other professionals assisting them as they conceive, design, market and implement easy-to-use, highly integrated consumer products.
This attorney must possess top legal talents that qualify her or him to be highly involved with cutting edge, strategic-deal development and negotiation. Principal duties include structuring, drafting and negotiation of development, technology, licensing, distribution, marketing and commercial agreements, and provision of ongoing legal counsel in the areas of intellectual property, technology, digital media, and regulatory compliance. Some travel, domestic and international, will be required.
Competitive candidates for this position must be graduates of top-tier law schools in good standing with at least one US state bar, must have trained at a well-respected US law firm, and must possess at least 3 years of relevant transactional legal experience in areas such as technology, IP law and/or commercial transactions. The following would be helpful, but are not required: prior international experience; prior in-house experience; and/or prior studies in engineering/computer science. Candidates must also demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, plus adaptability in working across legal disciplines and in functioning in a fast-paced environment where she or he will represent company interests successfully with savvy and demanding clients.
