Hi. I'm a 36 year old, clean cut, respectful guy who would like to rent a furnished room a few day's a week from a female in Morgan Hill or Gilroy. I'm moving to the San Jose area this fall, and I'm looking for some roommates. I'm not sure exactly where I'd like to live, but I'd prefer something between Palo Alto and San Jose (i.e. Mountain View, Sunnyvale, etc.) Convenient access to public transit is a plus, as my office in San Jose is right on a rail stop.

I currently live in NC, but I'm planning on making a visit to CA to look for housing and meet potential roommates. About me:

- 26 yr., young profession (Electrical Engineer). I work regular (i.e. basically 9-5) hours.
- Despite being an engineer, I'm outgoing and social and I enjoy being around people.
- As a roommate I'm pretty neat and respectful of the public areas, and I generally enjoy cooking, so if you play your cards right I could probably be persuaded to cook dinner a few times a week.
- I don't smoke or do drugs.
- I have a fair amount of furniture that I'll be bring with me (couch and chair, TV, kitchen table + 6 chairs, cooking stuff). I'm willing to put these in the common area if they won't be abused.
- I did the wild and crazy party thing in college, so I'm reasonably laid back. I enjoy going out the weekends, but generally to pubs/breweries as opposed to clubs.
- I enjoy lots of different outdoor activities, and can generally be persuaded to try any athletic activity at least once. I'd personally like to get more into hiking and yoga when I move out there.

As far as you go, I don't have a lot of rules(mostly a set of don'ts actually).

- No Smoking or Drugs. Being a smoker won't be a deal breaker if you can handle smoking outdoors ALL the time (no exceptions). If you do drugs of any kind, don't bother.
- No preference on gender. I'd prefer a house with mixed-gender, but that's low on the priority list.
- You should be sociable and outgoing. I don't know anyone in the area and while I'll be doing my best to create my own social circle, if you're open to including me in yours that's a huge plus. I will occasionally want to have people over for dinner and small gatherings, that sort of thing.

I suppose that's enough for now. This has gotten much longer that I thought it would. If you have any other questions, don't be afraid to ask.

i currently live in san francisco and have been here for the last 6 years teaching. i'm originally from ny. i'm planning a move to the san jose area for october because i want more green space, sun, and i am going to apply to grad school at sjsu. i will also be working.

i'm a 29 yr old female. i don't do drugs or smoke and am not interested in living with people who consider this among their favorite things. i'm respectful of shared space and privacy and want the same. that said, i'm pretty laid back and easy to get along with. i love the bay area and like all the typical things that people move here for (hiking, beach, diversity, food).

i would really like a living situation of people around my age, who generally keep working hours. my desired price range is under 600/month. i would like to move in the beginning of october, but i can be flexible. i'm not that familiar with the south bay, so i'm open to location as long as the commute to sjsu isn't too bad. it would be a bonus to be near public transportation. i've had really great roommate situations in the past and hope to find another one.
