South Bay Company is looking for a Banquet Captain that is highly motivated and excited about joining a well trained group of hospitality professionals. The Banquet Captain should have full knowledge of banquets standards, be able to properly assign staff to functions and will be responsible for managing the set-up and break-down of all banquet/concession stand functions. Your working relationship is with the management staff, service staff, as well as the client or guest.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Knowledge of food & beverage preparations; service standards; guest relations and etiquette
• Planning, scheduling and production of all banquet functions, including proper set-up and break-down
• Checking all Server BEOs to ensure accuracy of information
• Maintaining a strong client relationship and ensuring successful meeting experiences for the client, meeting planner and attendees
• Responding in a timely manner to client, supervisor, and peer inquiries
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Spanish speaker is a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) desirable.
• The ability to work varied workdays; days, evenings and/or weekends (based upon events)
*Must be able to lift 50 or more pounds.
*Safe Serve Certification a Plus.
