Job Description:
Process Technician for a Solar Cell development lab.

Responsibilities:

- Follow set procedures meticulously to fabricate thin film silicon solar cells from start to finish
- Operate all process equipment used to fabricate the cells
- Work with process and device scientists to design and implement experiments to boost solar cell efficiencies.
- Perform testing of solar cells as and when required
- Record all experimental details and help maintain up to date records
- Troubleshoot with process equipments as and when necessary
- Perform gas cylinder changes, and maintain other aspects of an experimental facility while adhering to all safety principles
- Purchase and help maintain a regular supply of materials required for the lab
- Maintain a clean lab environment and establish and implement a lab user protocol for everyone in the lab

Qualifications and requirements

- 7 plus years of hands on experience of working in a solar/semiconductor process development environment, out of which atleast 2 years preferably were in thin film silicon solar process development
- Significant experience with unit processes such as glass washing, PECVD, PVD and laser scribe
- Proven ability to maintain and run a process lab independently
- Hands on experience with troubleshooting of vacuum hardware equipment
- Experience with facility requirements such as AWN, gas cylinder changes, abatements, chillers etc preferred
- Basic knowledge of solar cell devices preferred
- Ability to work in swing shift for atleast 2 to 3 days a week desired
- Experience in basic characterization equipments such as profilometers, optical microscopes, spectrophotometers, ellipsometers desired
- Experience with advanced characterization techniques such as SEM, XPS, SIMS etc., a plus but not required
