Windows Filesystem and Hard Drive Analysis - Systems Engineering
A major Silicon Valley memory/storage company located in Milpitas, CA is looking for a contractor to help analyze
Windows and Linux based storage systems to improve future product performance.
We are looking for individuals with knowledge and experience in the area of:
- Windows Filesystems including FAT, FAT32, and NTFS
- Must be familiar with file allocation table data structures.
- Familiarity with tools and utilities to analyze disk usage
- Familiarity with ATA and SATA bus protocol analyzers
- Some Windows programming experience is required
- Individuals must be able to work independantly
- Individuals must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Job Description:
Contractor will:
- Set up and administer several test machines to run different user usage scenarios under several versions of the Windows and Linux operating system.
- Use existing utilities or write simple utilities to analyze filesystem data structures
- Take SATA bus traces of systems while in use to understand performance bottlenecks and help with system optimization
- Summarize data in presentations and reports and be able to communicate findings to other team members.
Duration:
Contract will start as soon as possible and last for 3-4 months
