JOB DESCRIPTION:
The PureWave DSP Software Team is responsible for implementation of our cutting-edge WiMax Base Station physical layer as well as drivers for interfacing to the digital and RF hardware. Roles and responsibilities of a Senior DSP Software Engineer include:
• Implementation, optimization and tuning of key physical layer algorithms including beamforming.
• Integration of the Base Station software with the digital and RF hardware via driver software.
• Development of factory and field calibration software.
• Debugging and tuning of the physical layer software in lab and field trials.
The above tasks require close collaboration with all other Engineering teams including Systems, MAC, Digital HW, RF, and Integration & Test.
This is a full-time position and reports to the Director of Baseband Engineering.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & SKILLS:
• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field, and at least 5 years experience implementing high-performance digital signal processing algorithms in embedded systems.
• Excellent skills in designing, implementing, optimizing and debugging embedded C software.
• Software engineering experience including version control, code reviews, documentation, etc.
DESIRED EDUCATION & SKILLS:
• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with OFDM/OFDMA physical layer wireless communications, especially WiMax.
• Familiarity with Xtensa processors.
• Familiarity with Real Time Operating Systems and multiprocessor systems.
• Experience writing software drivers for embedded processor systems.
