Ruby on Rails Developer Profile: Very good at both frontend and backend development.
- 3+ Years of Ruby on Rails experience.
- 3+ Years of Java experience. Candidate should be at least proficient with Java both in case they need to do Java work but also because it shows a well-rounded OO background.
- Experience on more than one, preferably several, Ruby on Rails projects.
- Viewable example projects a plus or a Rails blog, something we can look at that shows their professional interest or past work.
- Very good with SQL - Complex joins, query optimization, caching
- Configuration and Deployment Experience: Apache, SVN, database server, capistrano, and mongrel or passenger configuration.
- Competence on linux a plus. Basic shell scripts, cron, ssh.
- Unit/Scenario testing experience
- Fully capable of frontend development: HTML, CSS, AJAX, Javascript, Rails Helpers, basic image creation such as buttons and tabs
- Experience with multi-tenanted or direct-to-consumer platforms a plus. Unlike internal systems, d2c requires greater security, email notifications, registration, better usability, better UI, etc.
- Technologies: Rails,Postgres, YUI, Javascript, CSS, SOAP.
