Our ArtWalk is getting quite a turnout -- so artists will get good exposure that night.

I have secured some commercial space for Saturdays and Sundays throughout the rest of the year and will be holding some holiday workshops and open studio times to make holiday gifts, crafts, jewelry, etc... I am looking for a few crafters who are comfortable with people and who would be interested in a sort of trade situation where they would be onsite to help with questions, guidance, etc with attendees working on crafts and jeweley projects. In the meantime you would be able to work on your own crafts between questions, etc... as well as set up a table of your own goods to sell.

If you are interested in making some extra cash on top of selling your own goods, then we could possibly work out an arrangement where you would give your own class or a joint class. There is an additional opportunity to possibly rent a space in the same shopping complex that I have this weekend space for the month of December that would be available 7 days a week through the end of the year. I'm considering it if I can find others who want to go in on it.

Call for entries, consignment art gallery, Axis high rise (san jose downtown)

The new Art@Axis gallery space, at the beautiful new Axis highrise condos in downtown San Jose, is announcing a Call for Entries for their second show, the December thru February consignment period. (www.art-at-axis.com) The deadline to respond is Friday, November 20th at midnight.

We are looking for local painters, sculptors, photographers, plus ceramicists and glass artists (pretty much any media). We have a bias toward South Bay artists but can expand beyond the immediate vicinity. We may also have some opportunity for a public arts installation in the future if you do work that is durable and can handle being outdoors and have potential direct contact from passersby.

The Art@Axis gallery has received a great deal of publicity from the Axis PR firm and offers an opportunity to expose your work to people who are buying new condos in the building and have empty walls to fill. Our first reception weekend had about 500 hundred attendees. The dramatic lobby gallery is open to the public during regular business hours. Axis sales staff is constantly holding events and leading tours thru the 12th floor hall and the Penthouse which are both staged with original art.

Please submit entries (up to 10 jpg files) via email. (You will need to get a confirmation email from me with the address to send the files to). The files should be no larger than 800 pixels in the largest dimension (you can set your dpi to 72 first if you wish). Your work needs to be currently available for sale. Name the files with your initials followed by an abbreviated version of the title (avoid special characters like #, %, & and overly long names). Please try to avoid using the name "Untitled" it is an organizational nightmare. You are welcome to number them if titles are not your thing. If your submission is accepted I will contact you for a list of the full names, prices, along with delivery instructions. Please submit your own original works of art only, no giclees.

Please no phone calls!

Please also include the media you work in, your bio and artist statement, and a link to your web presence if you have them. If accepted you will need to make a $20 contribution to share in the cost of promotional materials. There is a 20% commission on any sales, which is much less than traditional galleries. There will be a reception for the artists at December's San Jose First Friday's Art Walk on the 4th that I encourage you to attend.

The goal of Art@Axis is to provide additional opportunities for local artists to display their work and be seen by the public. We will keep additional artwork on file for clients to browse that is not in the current show.

Oil Painting Workshop in Downtown San Jose. A 4 week course on introduction to oil painting designed to cater beginners as well as those who wish to progress and hone their skills. This workshop is recommended for intermediate- advanced students, though all levels are welcome.

This workshop is designed to give an overview as followed:

Week 1: Introduction to course, Grisaille painting
Week2: Intro to Imprimatura painting (Tonal and Optical Unity)
Week3: Warm- and- Cool Studies (maximizing the limited palette)
Week4: Painting from the life (Portrait painting)
Week5: Make up course (for those who missed a session)

�Sessions are held Tuesday evenings from 6:00- 9:00pm.
�Course numbers are limited and attendees will receive individual assistance according to their painting level and ability.
�Spatial work environment with easels and drawing horses provided.
�An enrollment fee of $200 includes and covers 4 three hour session, model fee, and one additional session available following week 4 for those who cancel a session. This averages out to about $15.00 an hour.

About the instructor
Francisco A. Franco (local artist and professor) was born in California�s Central Valley, and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley where he earned a degree in art practice and philosophy. He earned an M.F.A. from the Graduate School of Figurative Art of the New York Academy of Art. There he was fortunate enough to be part of an experimental one- year accelerated program where he studied under some of the best and most celebrated contemporary figurative artist of the East coast and graduated Cum Laude. He was also awarded a fellowship to study at the Ruskin School of Drawing at Oxford University in England under the tutelage of Sarah Simblet author of many drawing books including "Anatomy for the Artist". Since then, he has distinguished himself as a sought after muralist, receiving commissions from both private and cooperate sponsors. Greetings,

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce you to a great photo studio
available to rent by the hour here in a great central San Jose location, near Hwy. 280 &
7th St. It features an 18' wide white cove, 14' ceiling, 27' to the opposite
wall, great natural light and black curtains to control it. There are also 3 independent
overhead cross bars to hang lights and backgrounds from with individual rope pulleys to
control them. This is a great place to shoot. It's also very good for video projects that are
on a seriously tight budget. There are two dedicated 120v 20amp circuits, and a third that
can be brought in via extension cord from across the hall. 2nd floor facility, no elevator,
but plenty of free parking right out front. There is also a make up and changing room.

I'm only charging $35/hr with a two hour minimum without any lighting
equipment included at this price.

Execution of a Reputable Mind

I will never attend an execution. I tell why, not because you want to know, but for safety.
Without certainty, I estimate 99.2% are born pure. Upon the day of birth, their soul enters earth, pure. Throughout life, they get encumbered, unknowingly accepting cohabitants, rogue, unsettled spirits attach, (rogues for short).
Why, do you ask? Fear! People die; they fear crossing, instead choosing to stay, yet without body, the rogue needs/seeks host. The less character, the easier a rogue attaches. As well, you should know, the younger a person the less developed character, protect the young. For this reason, avoid hospitals and cemeteries, especially with youth; the majority of fearful spirits congregate in these places, amongst one another, like attracts like.
The criminal being executed for a heinous crime, most certain, was born pure, yet overtime became encumbered by rogues. The pure soul fights subconscious survival. The rogue, hardened and full of negative energy first takes the subconscious; then, as with murderers, overtakes the conscious, then the body. The pure spirit overwhelmed, the rogue spirit enslaves, taking hope, making a criminal.
Positive spirits typically move to their next destination, unless upon time of transit, they see a downed pure spirit, usually a loved one, in deep battle, the pure spirit chooses to remain behind. This is rare, and when these spirits do this, they are angels. The positive soul forgoes future plan because saintly in nature, they risk own soul to save a loved one.
Due this information, a person, can have both a saintly and rogue spirit in them, for these have hope. The least fortunate have a rogue spirit, who takes over their identity, until hardly a shade can be made of the former persons shadow. Account for a time and a person in life, you wonder how they were capable.
Examine the reputation of men, examine the character of a man. These two identities, distinct, and of vital importance. Reputation is how others see you. Character is how you see yourself. Character is the subtotal of your thoughts and deeds. You are a high character person if your thoughts and deeds are of positive energy.
The murderer does bad deeds, most likely because a rogue spirit/spirits encumbers. Men and women choose to execute this person, freeing the murderers spirit, yet also releasing the rogue. The rogue spirit more powerful, another life accounted for, now looks for a new host in a room of great reputation, politicians, judges, sheriffs, lawyers, and other reputable people of society attend executions I assume, but will not know, for I will never go.
These reputable folks think and do an execution, they kill. If thoughts and deeds are negative, character is low. These executors of a murderer have low character and great reputation. Rogue spirits most easily enter people of low character. The rogue spirit easily transcends a new host, one in the room, most likely a person of great reputation and little character.

Avoid people with great reputation and little character, they are most dangerous.

And, what if the rogue, upon execution, upon release, spots out your body, sees a host too comfortable to resist, and chooses to enter YOU.

Take this advice, never attend an execution, and be wary of the men and women who do this.

I have been a photographer for a few years now, and my primary subjects tend to be my friends, my kids, and people walking on the streets. Recently, I have decided to try to expand my subjects to include people in their natural environments. Basically, my photography tends to be much better when I can understand where the subject is coming from and what their personalities are. Craigslist clearly became the best way to reach a large and diverse group of people.

I am looking for people in their environments, whether the environments include work, at leisure (bowling, swimming, sitting at a park, etc.), or out and about on the streets.

What I am looking for:

-Anyone 18 and over who has ever thought for 1 minute that they were interesting. (Needs to be over 18 because of legal releases)
-Anyone interested in modeling (You don�t have to be a super model)
-Male and/or female (I am open to photographing models of any and all sex, ethnicity, sexual orientations, etc.)

I will be offering free prints in exchange for allowing me to take photographs of you. I will also be willing to travel to you, so wherever you are� chance are I will come to you.
