South Bay client seeks strong Revenue Recognition consultant to assist with a special project. Project is expected to be approximately 6 months in length.
The individual will be responsible for supporting new business/revenue models and analyzing the possible impact on revenue recognition policies. They will be responsible for coordinating with the PMO and other cross-functional groups to review proposed changes, drive issue resolution, communicate with required business functions and gather overall support for the new business models.
The project involves the following:
- Solid understanding of software business models (including SOP97-2);
- Provide supplemental support for QTC (Quote to Cash) process;
- Perform analysis, requirements gathering, formatting and presentation;
- Understand and document the requirements and application details;
- Determine system and process updates as needed;
- Coordinate with the delivery tracks for the review of design and process changes;
- Provide knowledge transfer as the changes are rolled out;
- Elaborate on issues found, including writing white papers and supporting documentation;
- Provide support for issue resolution in coordination with PMO;
- Drive to specific phase deliverables;
- Provide regular updates and status reporting;
- Experience with Oracle A/R, OM & Service Contracts a must.
- Provide supplemental support for QTC (Quote to Cash) process;

This individual will spot 'red flags' relating to proposed new business models and ensure they're acceptable for Revenue purposes.
New business models may include bundles of SW, Licenses, HW, Services, SaaS, futures, PSO, other PCS elements - across multiple route to markets such as Direct, 1-tier channels, Distributor models.
