The people: Two dudes. Both of us are last year Business Economics major students at UCSC. Since this is last year of schooling for both of us, we don�t party too much. But that doesn�t mean that we don�t like to have a good time such as kicking back with some 420 and some cold beers.
Both of us are Asian and both of us come down from San Francisco to Santa Cruz for schooling.

The location: It�s located between Mission St and Walnut Ave on the Westside of santa cruz. It�s about 10mins of walk to Downtown Santa Cruz and about 10mins of walk to take the metro bus to UCSC.

The apartment: It is a 2 bedrooms apartment; one is occupied by one dude. As for the second room, I am trying to have a third person to move in so that the rent 700 can be divided between two parties, which makes it 350 for each. The room is not very big for two persons but we can always work around it by maybe utilizing the living room more. I believe it will work out just fine if do our best. If you worry about not being able to have your �privacy�, you shouldn�t because all we have to do is let each other know ahead of time so that splitting a room shouldn�t get in the way of love.

The potential candidate: You should have either a job or school so that we know you�ve got something going on instead of just kicking back all the time and not really doing anything at all. Since we are simple kind of people, I think if it will work out a lot better if you are too. If you happen to be one of those privileged kids grew up in So-Cal, then I don�t think it�s going to work out too well.

The reason: It�s pretty simple. I am a fourth year student trying to make it through. $700 a month for rent is a little out of my budget; hence I am looking for someone to split it.

(Also, this room is available to be rented as a single room, which is 700 a month; that is, only if I can not find a person to share it with.)

The first room is really our living room with a fireplace, its very spacious, tons of windows with nice white shutters and hardwood floors. There is a small entrance to the living room so making a door to the room is very easy (we currently have a curtain up and theres been no complaints.) This room does not have a closet but the hall closet is two steps from the entrance and is pretty good in size. This room is $950... security deposit is 1st months rent, last months and a security deposit of a months rent. This room is perfect to share (475/person)

The second room is the master bedroom of the house, big closet hardwood floors, two big windows with white shutters and a view of Ocean Beach. This room is also $950 and just like the other one, definitely big enough for two people. Security deposit and total move in cost is the same as the other bedroom.

Me: 21 year old female, goes to SFSU, loves nightlife and bar hoping but can't hang doing it 24/7 so I'm definitely a chiller as well. 420 friendly and drinking is fun but no big parties at the house....small kick backs are okay though. I am looking for a housemate for a 3 BR flat on Guerrero Street. The place is a block from an ATM/mini mart, 3 blocks from the BART, 5 blocks from the J Line, Safeway, and a landlord less than a mile away. The room is roughly 10� x 11� with a large window and a small closet. It is currently painted a light green color but the management has given us the ok to paint so you can make it your own before move-in. The space gets natural light and fits a queen-sized bed, a dresser and night table. This is an uber-convenient location for someone without a lot of stuff that needs access to public transportation, a flexible move-in, in a dog-friendly home with a cozy place to read, watch tv, or barbeque in the summer.

As for me, I am a 30 something queer who works long hours during the week and enjoys my weekends. I am looking to create more of a home than a human storage facility, though, and hope to find the same in a house mate. Currently, my girlfriend and her adorable dog are staying in the second room for the short term so you will have some input in who lives here come September. Quirks: I don't drink or drug and I need roommates who can accommodate a "no drug" environment. A bottle in the cabinet is fine. As far as chores-- I'm not sure where I fit on the cleanliness scale. I take the trash out before it overflows, crush the recycling, clean the bathroom sink when it is dirty, sweep the living room floor and put away clean dishes from the dishwasher without being told. I am a 41-year old divorced woman who works full-time at a homelessness social service agency in Berkeley.

I love to cook and when I�ve lived by myself I�ve spent LOTS of time in the kitchen. I love playing with ingredients and recipes. I was a strict vegetarian for a long time, but for now I�m a flexitarian.

I�ve been a long-time volunteer as a community mediator. I also have a habit of taking classes and have found myself taking classes in Nonviolent Communication, sign language, nonviolence, fiction writing, open mic poetry, yoga, shamanic journeying, energy medicine, etc. I just completed a counseling certificate.

I also enjoy playing softball. Love listening to music and dancing at random spontaneous moments (when inspired cooking and dancing go well together.) Right now I�m wanting to find more ways to incorporate music, dancing, writing, and deeper friendships in my life, and would somehow like a living situation that supports that.

My style tends to be rather quiet and low key. Always in bed by at least 11:00. I use only eco-friendly cleaning products both for the planet and my own sensitivities.

I don�t own a TV, and partly because I�m susceptible to TV-addiction, I like not having it around too much. (I�ve been watching lots of videos online lately though, so maybe I�ve just swapped vices.) I often like to watch the Daily Show, Colbert Report and Keith Olbermann. I�ve also just recently started dating again and may be interested in having someone over from time to time.

I am 420-friendly and am a current marijuana user. I don�t want that to be a dominant aspect of any living situation (not looking to be in stoned out party house) but more of an occasional aspect of evening relaxation. (And I prefer for smoke to go outside the living space or to use a vaporizer that generates no smoke.)

I do not currently have a pet, but I really miss living with a cat. I�d like to find a cat-friendly home, either with your cat, or one that I later adopt.

Hi, I�m the apartment mate who�s leaving and I want to tell you this is a great place in Larkspur for a great price. Clean, quiet, nice layout for privacy, everything like new. Deck in the redwoods off lvng. rm. Low, low utility bills. One and a half bath (you get the full bath).

Super kitchen. Fireplace. Established, mellow complex, lots of trees, beautiful vistas, hiking trails below Tam right out the door. Sauna, weight room, three pools on redwood covered hillsides. You can even take a short hike over the hill into beautiful downtown Larkspur. And the ferry leaves from Larkspur. This is nature living with access to the city.

All this and a great apartment mate: intelligent, quiet, neat, super easy to get along with, fun. She is a world traveler, is away a lot, and does business internationally. Interesting, good sense of humor and irony, open-minded and curious. You can't beat this.
