JOB DESCRIPTION
The Flash Developer position is responsible for both designing and creating flash based games and gaming elements. You will work closely with the Lead Game Designer and Marketing Team to integrate proprietary marketing and design elements into games. You will be an integral part of the game development process from concept inception to launch and subsequent optimization. The Flash Developer needs to be passionate about game design and take ownership of the development process. We need someone who wants to move past being a cog in the works and to become a decision maker and process driver. This position is ideal for the star player in a larger and less nimble organization to define the canvas “as it was meant to be” and of course, share in a bigger piece of the success that comes through significant ownership in the business."
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Designing & developing highly interactive multiplayer flash games
• Actively participating in the game concept and design process
• Liaising with the Marketing & Engineering teams to incorporate technology infrastructure and marketing best practices into game design
• Developing and integrating modular server-side game logic
• Quickly producing interim deliverables such as prototypes and proof of concepts
• Proactively researching and acclimating to emerging technologies and applicable changes in the gaming and design space
• Executing effectively across multiple initiatives and projects
REQUIREMENTS
• 2+ years experience programming flash based games
• 2+ years experience in hand coding Flash, D/XHTML, JavaScript and CSS 2
• Proficiency in using ASP, ASP.Net, PHP, JSP or other framework to used to develop dynamic webpages
• Expertise in flash development work: Actionscript 2 & 3, CPU/Memory optimization, cross-browser optimization, and Javascript/Flash bridging
• Fluent in programming best practices including creating modular reusable code and performing code refactoring
• Experience in working with Facebook and Myspace APIs
• Ability to design and build a flash based game from prototype to production level along with all iterations in between
• Portfolio of flash based games and sample code
