Warehouse Attendant/Route Driver – Bilingual Spanish
South San Francisco perishable/natural foods manufacturing company seeks a warehouse attendant/route driver.
Basic job description: The Driver will perform pickups and deliveries through the Bay Area. When no pickups are scheduled, you will perform general warehouse work. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor/Route Manager. Applicants must be comfortable with refrigerated environments and early schedules.
•Warehousing:
Works under supervision of warehouse supervisor:
- Stores, stacks, or palletizes materials, examines and reports deterioration and damage
- Rearranges goods and performs routine cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory
- Manually lifts and moves product (in trucks and warehouse) to restock ensuring date code accuracy and proper rotation
- Moves goods and materials within the warehouse, loading dock, or yard with a forklift/pallet jack. Uses power and manual material handling equipment to perform loading/unloading and warehouse functions.
- Receiving - Unloads shipping containers, verifies the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, or other records; checks for damaged goods.
- Work with the Warehouse Manager on any other assigned duties
.Driving
Works under supervision of route manager
Deliveries/Pick Ups as needed in/around Bay Area. Must have clean driving record and be able to operate forklift and pallet jack.
Requirements :
- MUST be comfortable in refrigerated environments
- Can Handle a very early schedule
•High School diploma or GED preferred.
•Ability to operate a manual/powered pallet jack or forklift product.
•Demonstrated attention to detail.
•Certified Forklift License a plus.
•Must be able to repetitively lift up to 60lbs.
•Stable work history.
.1 year route experience and 1 year warehouse experience preferred
•Familiarity with warehouse procedures and techniques including lifting, sorting, and stacking.
Other Skills/Abilities
•Simple math, reading and writing skills.
•Solid reasoning skills including the ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form.
•Ability to comprehend and follow instructions and to make generalizations, evaluations or decisions without immediate supervision.
•Ability to learn names and locations of inventory items quickly.
•Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to a given work-load.
•Ability to accept and carry out responsibility for direction, control and planning of duties.
•Ability to relate to other employees in an business manner and to interact appropriately with the public.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bilingual (Spanish), High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum one-year route and/ warehouse experience preferred.
LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS
Drivers License – with good driving record.
Forklift certification – preferred.
