Job description:
Monitor service levels and track accuracy flow of merchandise and on time performance. Develop global transportation tracking, monitor performance on a regular basis and coordinate with other functional areas as necessary to implement changes that ensure budgetary targets are achieved. Monitor regional contract performance to ensure pricing revision made to achieve company targets. Analyze changes in the distribution network to find opportunities for potential earnings. Prepare corporate transportation budget. Forecast, administer and monitor department and company budgetary requirements. Survey, monitor, and report on logistics, warehousing and shipping service related issues and ensure that related data are captured to support the analytics related activity. Partner with business units to produce cost reduction methods and improved services initiatives. Apply mathematical principles to organizational problems. Current models include forecasting of full unit cost, cycle time, inbound and outbound capacity, equipment selection, and dynamic hub selection. Keep track of intermodal equipment inventory and keep management informed of equipment status. Maintain and report on all logistics and freight account administration as appropriate, to keep all supply chain stakeholders informed about logistics data. Manage contracted driver scheduling. Recruit and retain contracted drivers. Act as liaison between contracted drivers, customers, and company. Identify problem areas and offer solutions to improve operational efficiencies of designated market. Analyze and report on freight costs to chart changes in freight cost structures. Manage all activities associated with product liability and insurance, to ensure a readiness with all insurance documentation. Assist with resolving system related delays and product set up issues. Apply proper Tariff Classification and cost theories. Familiar with import and export regulatory requirements, and ensure compliance with USDOT, USDA, US Customs & Border Protection, US Export Administration Regulations, international terms and conditions of trade, and foreign country requirements. Develop strong relationships with carriers (ocean, air, and ground), freight forwarders, Customs brokers, and contracted drivers, and deployment planning to drive continuous improvement in, logistics and delivery of product to customers. Provide support for the customers as required, to ensure ongoing and timely order management. Study customer feedback and product return rates based on community, cycle time and shipping method. Negotiate with vendors, customers, and third-party integrators based on lead time, transit time, and delivery time securing both short and long term commitments. Compile and negotiate vendor and customer contract proposals. Research and recommend transportation partners for existing and new business. Compile presentation materials for external promotional meetings and exhibitions. Design company web page for business use. Supervise and train new hires.
Require:
Masters in Logistics or closely related field plus at least 1 years experience (will accept a Bachelors degree plus minimum of 6 years experience) that must have provided in-depth knowledge of shipping operations.
