Data Management and Tools Developer for digital music company (C#/MSSQL)

Dashbox is the leading provider of digital asset management systems for the entertainment production industry. We provide digitized music, bundled with powerful search and project management tools, to television and movie studios, trailer production houses, and others.

We are looking for a smart, ambitious, and versatile C# developer to join our “data operations” team.

As a major provider of music media and metadata services, we consume data feeds and media files from many third party sources, normalize and transform the data, and push the data and files to various locations. We have great DBA talent on-staff, and we want to hire an equally great developer to help us build the tools that power these mission-critical data operations.

The ideal applicant is a solid C#/.NET developer, with a background in engineering management solutions; ingesting data from text files, spreadsheets, XML feeds, screen scraping, etc.; building GUI tools for managing data; synchronizing and replicating data over the Internet.

You should be a self-starter who loves a fast-paced environment, thrives on creating simplicity from complexity, is collaborative but enjoys taking ownership, and is adept at juggling priorities. Flexibility, good judgment, and the desire to learn and adapt are critical.

Requirements:

• B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline.
• 3-5+ years of software development experience, with 2+ years of C# experience.
• Solid experience coding MSSQL-centric apps (and very comfortable with DataTables, DataReaders, etc).
• Experience writing code to interact with web services, cloud-based storage solutions.
• BIG PLUSSES: MySQL, Perl/Python, music industry background.

This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer. The company is based in Woodland Hills (Los Angeles) with an office in Burlingame (San Francisco). Open to work-from-home arrangement, assuming the fit is right.
