Under general supervision, plans, designs, builds and deploys production customer facing systems and solutions for our SaaS service. Works with monitoring team to repair any service failures. Supports DEV/QA teams in maintaining their environment. Develops, maintains, and ensures quality of the Qualys production services and may assist in development and implementation of necessary product design changes and monitoring tools.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides expertise regarding high level service availability, technical architecture and standards/process to operations and engineering teams.
Recommends appropriate course of action to developers, operations engineers and senior management, based on past, current and future service quality issues.
Recommend proactive course of action to operations, engineering and design teams.
Work with software development teams to integrate hardware and infrastructure into create customer facing solutions.
Provide high level support to operations and technical support team in case of service outage and customer reported problems.
Participate in product design discussions and make appropriate recommendations.
Order, build and deploy systems into production
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
8+ years of experience in systems design, implementation and operations support
Linux skills a must, Oracle and CCNA/CCNP certifications are plus.
Extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux systems including hardware, software and applications.
Knowledge of Apache web servers.
Provide hands-on technical leadership in design and support of Unix servers
Ability to work under pressure in 24/7 environment.
Take full responsibility for prioritizing the tasks presented to the group.
Must have exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Must be able to work on 24/7 oncall schedule.
Must be able to work constructively in team environment.
Ability to design and implement systems that are necessary to collect, maintain, and analyze data.
Ability to gather and analyze data and generate reports
SaaS experience strongly desired
