One Million Lights (OML) is a dynamic new nonprofit (www.OneMillionLights.org) whose mission is to replace kerosene lamps in rural areas of the world with a durable, solar-powered, LED light. This is a great opportunity to get involved in a clean tech, social venture that is changing lives one light at a time.

We are looking for a well-rounded individual, comfortable with bookkeeping and inventory management that can handle projects from start to finish. Your skills will help shape our organization and ensure a bright future for many in the developing world.

Some of the projects/tasks that we will need include:
• Inventory Management – of lights purchased, donated, and distributed.
• Bookkeeping
• Office Management
• Research for events, grants, etc
• Occasionally manage partner projects – be the liaison for domestic and international partners while we are partnered on fundraisers, light distributions, monitoring & tracking projects.

Most important to remember is that we’re an ever-evolving startup. We have specific needs for this position now, but we’re growing and changing every day. We need flexibility, someone who can manage his or her time well, and adapt to shifting priorities.

Skills: Excel, QuickBooks, Accounting/Tax expertise, Excellent communication skills, Ability to effectively work online, Project management

The position is based in Palo Alto and Redwood City, CA. It will be a 10-30 hour per week commitment starting at $10-20 per hour.
