KaBOOM! is seeking a highly passionate and motivational candidate, fluent in English and Spanish, to assist in the coordination and execution of KaBOOM! community-built playground projects. The ideal candidate for this position would be a flexible, high energy, team player who has a strong sense of personal responsibility for his/her work. If you are precise and detail oriented, you are encouraged to apply as the Community-Build Manager must be able to manage a pre-determined budget to maximize the value of the community’s new playground. Strong oral communications skills are a necessity, as this position requires both confident public speaking to crowds of up to 300 volunteers and enthusiastic conference call facilitation with small groups. KaBOOM! also delivers excellent quality of service to co-workers and external partners with prompt phone and/or email responses, and as such, effective written communication skills are also very important.

A significant amount of travel (up to 60%), including weekends, is required for execution of the KaBOOM! Design Day and Build Day events. There are important administrative tasks such as note-taking, facilitation of conference calls, development of post-project reports and making travel arrangements which require an extremely careful attention to detail and a very strong organizational system. Conflict resolution and the ability to galvanize divergent groups of people are integral to this position. KaBOOM! employees must seek to exceed expectations at all times and inspire partners and volunteers throughout the process. Although prior experience is not required, candidates must have in interest in developing or honing construction and technical skills.

National Campaign for Play, which includes Playful City USA and Playmakers - a national network of individual advocates for play.
Summary of Qualifications:
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish and confidence with public speaking
• BA or BS degree is desired along with relevant project management /event management experience. Candidates should also have ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at the same time
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, operate a wheelbarrow containing up to 200 lbs and the ability to work outdoors for up to 15 hours per day
• Ability to manage small and large teams of volunteers from non-profits, corporations, government agencies, grassroots organizations and various diverse community groups
• Strong coordination, organization, interpersonal, and communication skills are valued
