The engineering team is lean and quick - we use paper prototyping, agile development, test driven development, and A/B testing to deploy daily releases to the world. Frontend Engineer role<br>
Your responsibilities at Kickball will be to:<br>

* Build a fun, creative consumer experience for millions of people worldwide<br>
* Lead discussions around visual and interactive design and champion high-quality product experiences<br>
* Design and prototype customer-facing products using OmniGraffle, Photoshop, Balsamiq, and other tools<br>
* Translate your designs into cross-browser compliant, standards-based code<br>
* Handcode clean, beautiful and maintainable JS, XHTML, CSS<br>
* Maintain your code in Git and work directly with the engineering team<br>

Working Practices<br>

1. Ensure all art staff are correctly organising, documenting and administering photography and illustration rights agreements and contracts; typeface rights; production and general in-house matters, and in-house and out-house repro order forms.<br>
2. When temporary staff is required, ensure that they are briefed and directed efficiently and cost-effectively either by yourself or delegated staff.<br>
3. Ensure correct use of in-house systems.<br>
4. Ensure the Art staff is effectively administering in-house repro orders and instructions, and that all output is correctly marked up and labelled, enlargements and reductions are correctly calculated, and any special instructions are completely specced out so that the production departments can complete the page without further need for feedback or information.<br>
5. Encourage the use of the other in-house facilities – the photography department – and ensure that correct procedure is followed.<br>
<br>
Communication & Development<br>
<br>
1. Keep the senior management informed of actions and events. Write regular reports on the successes and opportunities and make recommendations to help improve or streamline general operations.<br>
2. Hold regular documented Art meetings for your team, and chair open discussions to address senior management directives, design issues and initiatives as well as to conduct analysis of competitive and parallel markets to ensure Future Plus’ products are always on the cutting edge. <br>
3. Encourage and realise market and design awareness.<br>
4. Develop photographer and illustrator contacts of worth and always be on the lookout for new and upcoming talent.<br>
5. Encourage respective Art staff to be more design-conscious and aware of competitors’ magazines, realise appropriate design for market and dissuade from self-interested design style and look to other areas of graphic design relevant to their markets for influence and inspiration. <br>
6. Communication with staff and client is vital. The ability to both receive and be given creative feedback is an integral aspect of this position.<br>

Job Description

We are seeking a full-time temporary Jr. Marketing Designer to provide administrative, creative and general office support for company–wide marketing functions.  Primary function will support Brand Marketing Manager in branding, PR, corporate communications and additional marketing and administrative activities. Position will also assist eCommerce and Web Marketing Groups in creating content and web applications to help expand web presence including but not limited to social networking, blog/microblog channels, production design, and corporate communication.

Essential Functions:

•	Contribute to development of creative and strategic online and offline branded content and promotional initiatives.

•	Promote and represent the Sanrio brand administratively via external correspondence (mail, online, telephone).

•	Work with multiple internal business units and agencies to help create, maintain and monitor branded marketing collateral and promote brand consistency.

•	Identify, coordinate and maintain product inventory and materials for media placements, photo shoots, trade shows and other marketing / PR events.

Required Skills/Education:

•	Strong conceptual skills, a meticulous eye for detail, and the ability to take a project from inception to completion

•	Design interactive ads, including custom flash banners, flash movies, and new custom ads

Requirements

Chapter newsletter (40%): <br>

The Senior Art Director is one of the most integral roles within the team. The individual is responsible for inspiring, leading, and driving the visualization process, from collaborative conceptualization through final product and setting the vision and quality bar for the product at a level that is amongst the top tier within the industry. The Senior Art Director focuses on the visual development of the product, and works closely with the Producer(s), Creative Director and Leads Group to ensure the quality and integrity of the product meets or exceeds product vision, and pushes the boundaries of competitive visual quality.<br>

You will be responsible for establishing the art production pipeline and art specifications documentation (currently known as the “Art Bible”). As well as creating and maintaining the long term vision for both the staff and the product.  Demonstrating solid conceptual, visualization and prototyping skills and techniques, the Senior Art Director must have the ability to remain hands-on enough in the art production to troubleshoot and devise solutions with both the internal art team as well as external vendors.  Using an exceptional understanding of visual storytelling within the game design process and methodology, the Senior Art Director monitors and maintains craftsmanship and continuity with both the internal art team and outside vendors.<br>

Essential functions<br>
•	Collaborating with Producer and Project Director to assemble a quality art team<br>
•	Leading and motivating the art team to realize overall goals and deliver a successful project on time<br>
•	Assisting the Producer in the creation and overall management of the art schedule and resource plans<br>
•	Tracking and approving completed art assets<br>
•	Collaborating with Lead Programmer to brainstorm technical ideas and solutions<br>
•	Creating and updating the Art Bible, ensuring that the art team’s style remains consistent.<br>
•	Responsible for establishing the art production pipeline and enforcing the process throughout the project cycle<br>
•	Working with Producer to adjust project goals and design revisions on the fly as necessary to adapt to changing situations to meet established schedules<br>
•	Identifying potential problems in the art pipeline and working with the Producer(s) to prevent them<br>
•	In partnership with Producer, help settle project-related conflicts and disputes, and counsel marginal performers, according to HR policies<br>

Create design and support maintenance of visual elements of Sanrio.com, a dynamic content and e-commerce website, plus other new sites and online projects, to contribute to Sanrio’s online marketing and ecommerce business objectives.<br>

REQUIREMENTS:  <br>
•	A design degree is preferred (BFA/MFA in graphic design, digital media design or other visual arts)<br>
•	1-5 years experience working on large-scale, dynamic websites <br>
•	E-Commerce experience in consumer market preferred <br>
•	Adobe Photoshop, Flash/ActionScripting, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, CSS, HTML knowledge <br>
•	Strong understanding of the importance of designing to meet business and project objectives<br>
•	Strong conceptual skills, a meticulous eye for detail, and the ability to take a project from inception to completion<br>
•	Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams in a collaborative, teamwork environment<br>
•	Strong knowledge of standards and best practices for online media, including user interface, user experience design and information architecture <br>
                     as well as impressive samples of work in the online world<br>
•	Ability to take and give creative direction and go through iterative rounds of revisions to deliver best work<br>
•	Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects to meet tight deadlines<br>

The Scientific Information Visualization Designer plays a critical role in designing and prototyping dynamic interactive graphical diagrams of biological systems. This role will serve as a visualization architect and is expected to contribute to the definition and implementation of effective graphical presentations of Ingenuity’s industry-leading biomedical knowledge in context to scientists. We’re seeking a self-guided, creative professional with strong exposure to information visualization, user-centered design methodology, and basic knowledge of molecular and cell biology.

Primary Responsibilities
<br>
•	Create high-quality interactive biological pathway diagrams that drive user engagement, insight, adoption, and usage. 
<br>
•	Work with Ingenuity's world-class knowledge specialists to design, develop, and evaluate scientific visualizations that will drive next-generation user experiences in scientific discovery.
<br>
•	Create conceptual diagrams, interaction flows, and storyboards to drive the design process.
<br>
•	Perform ad hoc usability testing and evaluations, selecting the appropriate methods as needed.
<br>
•	Develop and refine interactive prototypes for iterative testing.
<br>
•	Mentor team members and educate the project team on user-experience best practices. 
<br>

Required Experience
<br>
•	Experience with information visualization techniques
<br>
•	Basic understanding of molecular and cellular biology concepts, and eagerness to help advance biomedical discovery through visual communication
<br>
•	At least 3 years experience developing innovative graphical interactive designs using an object-oriented programming language (preferably Java)
<br>
•	Knowledge of human computer interaction, perceptual psychology, analytical reasoning, and related visualization science experience
<br>
•	Applied knowledge of interaction design best practices and standards
<br>
•	Demonstrated experience designing and evaluating dynamic, content-centric user interfaces and information visualizations for complex domains
<br>
•	Experience working with product-development teams and understanding and translating user needs
<br>
•	Ability to ask appropriate questions and persuasively convey design solutions to a broad range of stakeholders: product management, business development, engineering, executive management, etc.
<br>
•	Demonstrated ability to develop innovative ideas and execute effectively against them in a highly collaborative environment
<br>
•	Ability to work quickly and thrive in a fast-paced agile, release-early release-often development environment 
<br>
•	Excellent visual, oral, and written communication skills
<br>
•	Ability to select among existing methodologies and tools, and where necessary develop new approaches, to drive design processes and communicate design rationale
<br>

<br>
Additional Desired Experience
<br>
•	A portfolio of design documentation
<br>
•	Biotech/life sciences experience is preferred, including an understanding of the drug discovery process
<br>
•	Direct experience with usability testing (e.g., observation and analysis, test-script creation, moderating)
<br>
•	Experience with multiple graphical visualization libraries and layout algorithms
<br>
•	Storytelling
<br>
•	Experience with biomedical ontologies
<br>
•	Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Visio, PowerPoint)
<br>
•	Degree in related field (HCI [human-computer interaction), library science, technical communications, industrial design or other relevant design area
