The Human Resources Generalist (“HR Generalist”) manages the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource Department. The HR Generalist manages the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Generalist also originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.

Primary Objectives:

• Safety of the workforce;

• Development of a superior workforce;

• Development of the Human Resources Department; and

• Development of an employee-oriented Company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement and high performance.

Main Duties:

• Recruiting and staffing logistics;

• Manage employee applications, obtaining badges, background and drug screening;

• Assist managers in employee performance management and annual reviews;

• Assist managers in employee disciplinary matters;

• Act as a liaison between employees and the Accounting Department to resolve all compensation and benefits administration issues;

• Oversee Company employee communications, including reviewing and responding to employee concerns directed to Company’s Employee “Hotline” (telephone and email) and Company’s “Payroll” email.

• Manage employment issues and ensure compliance for regulatory concerns and reporting;

• Respond to Administrative inquiries, including but not limited to correspondence from the California Employment Development Department;

• Manage the organizational development of the Human Resources Department;

• Policy development, distribution and documentation;

• Employee safety, welfare, wellness and health;

• Organizational and space planning; and

• Perform other related duties as required.

Educational Requirements:

College Degree; preference given to those with Human Resources Certifications, specifically Professional in Human Resources (“PHR”) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (“SPHR”) with state certification in California.

Work Experience:

Prior experience interviewing and hiring employees; performing employee counseling and discipline; performing and/or supporting management in annual and compensation reviews; conducting exit interviews; reviewing employment applications and ensuring proper employment documentation and verification, including INS I-9 Form; facilitating background and medical testing; managing employment files, with knowledge of how to legally store such files. Knowledge of general office administration and administrative support; knowledge of computer office equipment, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint, and Outlook.
