The Medicare Annual Election Period is November 15th-December 31st and allows seniors to buy a prescription drug plan or change their existing plan. Counselors will provide an introduction to Part D options and assist participants with finding an option that meets their individual needs.

Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) provides unbiased information to help you make the best choice for your individual health care needs. HICAP is a statewide, state and federal funded program for Medicare beneficiaries and their families. All of these services are provided by highly trained, volunteer counselors who are registered by the California Department of Aging. The program is sponsored by Self Help for the Elderly.
