Mechanical Designer/Drafter

Lyncean Technologies, Inc. is developing a novel and compact synchrotron x-ray source with applications in such diverse fields of science as structural biology, proteomics, materials, and x-ray imaging applications. We are looking for a talented and experienced mechanical designer/drafter, with multidisciplinary skills, who can work in a fast-paced environment, designing and drafting complex mechanical parts and assemblies.

Requirements include:
• BS or AA in Mechanical Engineering or Design&Drafting
• a minimum of 5 years of industry experience utilizing Pro-Engineer (WildFire) 3D
• expert knowledge of GD&T.

Experience should include:
• design for manufacturability
• precision part design
• knowledge of kinematics.

Also desirable, but not required, is experience designing and drafting:
• opto-mechanical systems
• microwave components
• ultra-high vacuum components
• electronics racks, crates, and chassis’.

This position also requires that you excel in and enjoy:
• eliminating complexity
• working with details
• organization.

The ideal candidate for this position will:
• possess a burning curiosity about how mechanical systems work
• enjoy getting the details right
• be passionate about seeing tasks completed and vigilant about completing documentation
• have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• possess a surplus of initiative and be motivated to learn a variety of new engineering and manufacturing skills.
