User Interface Developer
The User Interface Developer reports directly to an assigned department head or supervisor, planning and prioritizing as a department team member and the organization as a whole.
The User Interface Developer works on projects as directed by a supervisor, with moderate supervision, and interacts with clients as directed by a supervisor.

Job Description
Required Experience/Skills:

• Expert knowledge of XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, DHTML , AJAX in a cross-browser, cross-platform environment

• Two years minimum experience developing web user interfaces using Java or a similar Object Oriented Programming Platform

• Proficient working within JSP expressions, JSTL, and Struts

• Working knowledge of SQL and concepts of relational databases

• Source Code Control user experience (VSS, Subversion)

• Aptitude for learning new Internet and authoring technologies relevant for web site development

• Ability to perform well in a fast-pace team environment

• Advanced GUI development and sensitivity to information architecture and design issues

• Strong attention to detail

• Dedication to completing work on time-sensitive projects

• Basic graphic production and image mapping skills (Photoshop, Fireworks)

• Concise and clear English communication skills (both verbal and written)

Duties

• Implement functionality in JavaScript, Java/JSP and using Ajax frameworks like JQuery or JSON-RPC

• Execute GUI implementations with support from JSP/Java engineers and integration engineers for functional customizations.

• Implement client sites through changes to configuration files, stylesheets, SQL and/or JSP files.

• Read, review, and follow all supporting specifications: storyboards, requirements specifications, and design specifications.

• Follow MarketLive standard practices for code development and testing.

• Interact with Project Managers, Team Leaders and Designers as necessary to complete projects

• Support site production as needed (duties vary from data entry in proprietary admin tool to coding SQL to manage data)

• Write client-side JavaScript user interface elements

• Provide feedback to help reduce implementation time and bugs

• Communicate, follow-up, and escalate with appropriate team members to clarify or provide feedback with any aspect of job functions

• Use coding standards to support browsers as indicated in either the standard company policy or as specifically outlined in the project statement of work.
