Web Designer (Front end UI/ HTML/CSS/jQuery/Photoshop)

o Overview
— The candidate will be joining a funded startup to expand and roll out its image-based ecommerce initiative targeting B2B and B2C markets.
— Position may be part time or flexible hours, growing to full time.
— Must be able to attend regular meetings in our Marin County offices. No overseas, out of area or agencies, please.

o The ideal candidate will have:
— Ability to work with all team members to understand objectives, create UI mockups, and implement complete UI solutions
— Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (including jQuery), XML, Flash, AJAX, ActionScript and ideally PHP programming.
— Expert ability with Adobe CS, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash
— Skills in designing, managing and continually updating and improving sites
— Strong planning and follow-up skills
— Entrepreneurial passion and a willingness to see some of his or her compensation linked to our success (stock or bonuses related to our success)
— Strong ecommerce background, in building successful b2b and b2c interface design
— Ensure consistency, tone and company brand voice with all web communications.
— Understanding of (or ability to quickly grasp) competitive offerings in “on demand” apparel and ecommerce services

o Specific skills
— Excellent skills with Adobe CS – Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash
— HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, XML, AJAX, Action Script, 960 Grid
— Expert knowledge of cross-platform, cross-browser issues
— Web design, both from a graphical and “close the sale” perspective (e.g., understanding the psychology of how UI affect close rates)
— Technology – sufficient technical skills to work with our programming teams here and overseas, and understand both the possibilities and limitations of what can be done with our current system (and help drive capabilities for the future)
— Marketing – experience in working with marketing and sales teams to strategize and implement improvements to the offering, and in innovating new vehicles to reach customers via the web, email, and other online tools
— Familiarity with Web 2.0 technologies and standards
