Steps to Becoming a Security Officer:
1) Successfully complete Guard Training Course (Power to Arrest) -- $80
2) Get a Live Scan -- fingerprinting for background check -- $76
3) Submit application to BSIS -- $51
4) Wait 7 - 10 days for background check (approximate waiting time)
5) Print license from BSIS website and start work (guard card will be sent to you)

The additional 32 hours of training required by BSIS following employment as a Security Officer are also offered:

-- Observation & Documentation (4 hours)
-- Communication and Its Significance (4 hours)
-- Liability / Legal Aspects (4 hours)
-- Electives (16 hours)

Taser training and certification will be available in February 2010.

Training offered by Double Eagle Private Security, Inc. The Basic Guard Card Training Course is 8 hours of classroom time covering Power to Arrest and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) & Terrorism Awareness. Students that pass the final examination at the end of the course will receive a Certificate of Completion, and application to BSIS will be submitted.

Job Placement: Interviewing officers for armed and unarmed positions. Additional training may be required.
