Production & Purchasing Manager
Rapidly growing Nutraceutical Company, based in Santa Rosa, California is seeking a Production & Purchasing Manager.
This position requires ten years experience in shipping, manufacturing, purchasing and warehousing activities, with a minimum of three years in the health food nutritional supplement industry. 4 year degree is preferred, but not required. Knowledge of customs procedures, federal and state regulations, current good manufacturing practices as they pertain to the dietary supplement industry, and personnel management is required.
Core Areas of Responsibility:
* Source and purchase ingredients for nutritional supplements
* Evaluate raw materials for quality
* Coordinate production of dietary supplements with contracted co-packers
* Maintain accurate and organized records of all production related activities
* Participate in new product development
* Familiarity with dietary supplement product labeling requirements (DSHEA) and cGMP Standards to maintain compliance with FDA regulatory requirements
* Interface with president, department directors, sales representatives, warehouse clerk, custodial and building services.
* Organization of production and purchasing department activities
* Maintain and develop vendor relationships

* Excellent computer skills, including utilization of spreadsheets and accounting software for materials requirement planning, purchasing, receiving and inventory tracking
