I met you at the very top of the Headlands on Sunday October 12th watching the early part of the Sunday air show from the highest point the road goes in the Headlands overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge etc.. I Introduced myself before you took off to hit the beach. I really enjoyed talking with you and wasn't bold enough to invite myself to join you at the beach. I was hoping to run into you as I looped the Headlands again after the air show but, I unfortunately didn't see you. I had found it so hard to get over you. I wasn't sure what it was that made you more special than guys in the past. I recounted all of our dates, moment by detailed moment, convincing myself that things will get better once you figure out your own life.

I tortured myself with these thoughts. I treasured the memory of our first kiss after the fireworks. I refused to delete my cell phone's text inbox. And the blog I kept where I took note of our dates, reminded me that despite how insensitive you were being, perhaps everything'd be fixed if I just waited out the storm.

And I felt horrible, still, for switching hands on you during a hj because of how we were sitting, without realizing that since my arm was behind you and you cut off the circulation to it, that it would be so cold.

I tried to meet other guys, and while I made some great friends, no one compared to you and I started to believe that I'd never find anyone ever again that kissed like you.

And then he came along.

Without me saying a single word about my interests, he chose the perfect date. He's intelligent, adorable, and loves his job - but more importantly he's ambitious and while he's not sure what he ultimately wants to do in his career, he knows what he wants out of life and isn't afraid to go get it. It's refreshing. But while he's out of town, it's still clear that he's thinking of me and how great it'll be when he gets back.

So I erased my old texts from you. I've rid myself of the blog posts about you. And this post is just a final cleansing step to say that I'm proud of my hand, because while my heart couldn't see what you were doing to me, at least my hand had the balls to freeze your....balls.

I gave up a part of myself when you were at your lowest. I sacrificed my energy in the hope that even if we weren't together as lovers, that you'd still be happy in life. But Now I know that you enjoy being miserable and you wont allow yourself happiness. So stop complaining that your life sucks and do something about it. Most girls are less tolerant of that shit. I do have to say thank you for making it as clear as day how wonderful my new guy is. Though next to you anyone looks like casanova.

The interviewer asked her questions about her life, about what it felt like to be marrying again at 84, and then about her new husband's occupation.

"He's a funeral director," she answered.

"Interesting," the newsman thought.

He then asked her if she wouldn't mind telling him a little about her first three husbands and what they did for a living.

She paused for a few moments, needing time to reflect on all those years. After a short time, a smile came to her face and she answered proudly, explaining that she first married a banker when she was in her early 20's, then a circus ringmaster when in her 40's, later on a preacher when in her 60's, and now, in her 80's, a funeral director.

The interviewer looked at her, quite astonished, and asked why she had married four men with such diverse careers.

"Easy, son," she smiled. "I married one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go!"

As I grow in age, I value women over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:

A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, "What are you thinking?" She doesn't care what you think.

If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it's usually more interesting.

Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you over the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it.

Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated.

Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40.

Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart.

Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one. You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.

Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress. Ladies, I apologize.

For all those men who say, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?", here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!
