After playing guitar for 42 years (including 10 years teaching and playing professionally), I had hand surgery to correct an athletic injury. The surgery led to complications that immobilized my left hand. I feared I never would play again. I worked hard at rehabilitating my hand and studied hand kinesiology. During this process, I learned many ways to improve hand function on the guitar, and to work around manual challenges. I know the guitar very well, and, even with manual limitations, usually can find a way to do anything. I would love to help other manually challenged players regain their ability to play well. Arthritis, Dupuytren's Contracture, paralysis, missing fingers need not silence your guitar playing. I know that I can help you play music that you love.

Stevie Coyle here, former frontman of whiz-bang string-band The Waybacks. I give guitar lessons via Skype, a completely free and hugely functional video chat client. I teach all acoustic styles, with fingerpicking and alternate tunings as specialties. Been playing for 40+ years and teaching for 25.

My method is to start with you sending me a list of half a dozen songs you'd love to play. We'll pick two and get busy. Right and left-hand technique, ear training, even a bit of theory (but not so much as to hurt your playing) all grow right out of learning to play music you find exciting anyway. No "Mary Had A Little Lamb," and no "Kumbaya." That's a promise.

All styles welcome, all ages and all skill levels. I get a huge vicarious kick out of seeing folks "get it," so don't worry a bit that I wouldn't be interested in teaching beginners.

Hey everyone, I am a senior at Sonoma Academy and am looking into making a few more bucks. I have been taking advanced math classes since I was a freshmen, and am pretty well-rounded when it comes to math. I have been helping various students during lunch time at school with freshman and sophomore math. I would be very helpful with junior high math as well, I have been tutoring my little cousin for a few sessions now and she has actually improved with her math abilities and her test taking. Subjects that I would be best at helping with include Algebra 1 and 2, as well as geometry and some other math topics like statistics.

I will be only charging $20 an hour which is a pretty good deal compared to anywhere else that you might look, most places charge around $50 or $60, and for the most part, I am just as qualified.

My plan would be to meet at the library in Petaluma for an hour or two to do the actual tutoring. I am totally open to any change in location, like somebody's house. I am also willing to drive to places near Petaluma such as: Rohnert Part, Cotati, Santa Rosa, etc.

hello everyone out there, I am not sure if there is a big community of martial artists seeking things out on craigslist. but there is one thing that has made me grow tired of most teachers out there, and that is that it is a business and that they must charge for a purely economical reason as well as to apply value in today's society. I do not believe in this. although all teachers out there are showing something useful I don't believe that charging shadows in any way the teachings of great teachers. it does although hinder in some cases students abilities to continue. so here I put myself out there for free. I must warn that I am only a beginner that can show the fundamentals of striking blocking joint manipulation and internal work. anyone out there who wants to learn martial arts should not be hindered by the burden of patronage. ( it is immensely beneficial to teach martial arts for me as it continues my learning process) When I first started learning I worked as a house painter pro bono and every two hours of hard work was worth just one hour of martial arts, I do believe that things must be earned but the first part of earning anything is showing up. don't be afraid find mental and physical health increased awareness and superior survival skills

It seems crazy to me that a true beginner is expected to make a choice in purchasing a guitar, a choice in what style of music to play, and to immediately gain some basic understanding of music terms like music theory, improvisation, rhythm, harmony, ear training, chords, scales and much, much more.

First we discuss your guitar; let's spend your money very wisely. The smartest decision may be for you to wait a few weeks or months to buy your first guitar. If so, I can loan you a guitar to practice with until you are a more knowledgeable buyer. I can also help you find a used guitar. Frequently my students begin instruction certain of learning to play one style of guitar. Hence they
