Palm Drive Hospital, a 37-bed district hospital in beautiful west Sonoma County (1 hour north of San Francisco in the Wine Country) is currently seeking a Chief Nurse Executive.
The Chief Nurse Executive is responsible for the division of nursing service at Palm Drive Hospital and for coordinating and directing all nursing activities toward common hospital goals and in accordance with the hospital mission statement.
Position requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Must have a current license issued by the California State Board of Nursing. Masters Degree in nursing or related field with experience in nursing administration; or Baccalaureate Degree in nursing or related field with two years' experience in nursing administration; or four years of experience in nursing or related field with evidence of continuing education directly related to the job specification (to process the requisite knowledge and skills associated with graduate-level skill education). The written plan to obtain a postgraduate will be reviewed and approved by the Chief Executive Officer. Specific knowledge of the following is sought: a) current theoretical approaches to delivering nursing care and strategies for examining and applying relevant concepts and b) current leadership, management, and performance improvement concepts and the ability to participate in developing and implementing strategies to address opportunities for improving the nursing care delivered to patients. Must have current BLS certification. Five to ten years' nursing experience, including satisfactory experience as instructor or supervisor is also required.
