Syar Industries, Inc. is one of northern California's largest producers and suppliers of high quality aggregate rock products, asphaltic concrete, and ready mix concrete. Syar Industries, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Engineer/Manager to join our management team.
The Quality Control Engineer manages, plans, coordinates, and directs quality control program which is designed to ensure the continuous production of and quality standards in, rock and asphaltic concrete products. The position involves, but is not limited to, the following tasks and duties:
• Interacts with Quarry Managers to improve and correct quality control issues as they arise, before they become a problem.
• Works closely with job personnel to develop mix designs for Asphaltic material as needs change.
• Manages, through intermediate personnel, workers engaged in activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, services and products.
• Interacts with Sales to analyze Specifications to recognize problems before bidding a job.
• Plans, promotes and organizes training activities related to quality and reliability.
• Trains staff, evaluates employee performance and recommends promotions, transfers and disciplinary action.
• Interprets company policy for employees and enforces company policy and practices.
• Investigates customer complaints regarding quality and makes appropriate adjustments.
• Works closely with Syar QC Technicians, outside labs and Contractors to insure that scheduling of personnel is appropriate to meet testing requirements.
Qualifications:
Must have experience in dealing with CalTrans and have working knowledge of the most recent CalTrans Section 39 Specifications.
Ability to communicate fluently in English
Have communications skills to give and receive information clearly on the phone.
Working knowledge of computerized quality control programs and Microsoft products.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent.
