CSG Support Engineer Position Overview:
The primary objective of a CSG Support Engineer is to develop and streamline processes to support the repair of Gimbal systems while adhering to quality, cost, and program delivery schedules. A CSG Support Engineer tends to have strong technical and systems expertise coupled with good planning and organizational skills. They have the ability to work with all necessary functions including all CSG repair, engineering disciplines, planning, procurement, test, production, program management, etc.., to ensure that the work gets completed on-time and on-budget. They tend to be detail-oriented and have the ability to probe into the details to find the underlying issues involved in any related problem. They can also see the big picture of the project and can coordinate, influence and challenge the team to achieve the departmental objectives. They are strong-willed and do not accept excuses. Getting the project done despite the challenges is a traditional trait of the best CSG Support Engineers portray. Flexibility is part of this. This means bending to meet personnel challenges, adaptability in coordinating the inputs of others, and creativity in obtaining added resources.

This position will be the CSG Support Engineer on all Harness, Circuit Board Assembly, Payload and General Electrical Issues for the MX15/MX20, "400" Series and "M" Series Systems, including support subsystems. In addition, this position will support CSG on assembly planning, assembly documentation and updates, develop testing hardware/software for Repaired PWA's and electro-mechanical assemblies, tooling design and floor support; provide assistance to Purchasing in the selection and qualification of vendors; and, support the ISO quality system. The CSG Support Engineer will interface daily with our sister company (L-3 Wescam) on the MX15/MX20 systems in-house at SEO and SEO systems needing repairs and any issues that arise causing delays in the timely repair and shipment of the MX15/MX20, 400 Series and "M" Series systems.

As the majority of L-3 SEO new products which are planned for introduction in the next two years will utilize digital processing technology, this position will be the dedicated CSG Support Engineering resource capable of supporting the deintegration troubleshooting, integration and testing of digital processing rather than pulling resources from design Engineering. The CSG Support Engineer will utilize his/her significant knowledge of embedded processor based systems to troubleshoot a variety of systems using C/C++, Matlab, and Simulink.

Experience for this role generally includes a minimum of 5 years technical/Support engineering (EO/IR preferred), knowledge of Support MRP systems & lean Support principles, familiarity with video processing, C/C++, Matlab, Simulink, and proficiency in MS Office applications including MS Project and Visio.

Department Organization:
This position is part of the CSG organization, reporting to the SEO CSG Manager. There are 17 people currently reporting to the CSG Manager.

Performance Objectives:
The most important performance objective for this role is to support CSG in their repairs and support of the MX15/MX20, 400 Series and the "M" series systems. A secondary role will be interfacing with Design Engineering on Design Review for supportability; support CSG repair process planning, assembly planning, assembly documentation generation and updates, tooling design and floor support; provide assistance to Purchasing in the selection and qualification of vendors; and, support the ISO quality system. In support of this objective you will collaborate with your team members to create, review and update Support processes and methods.
Provide excellent CSG Support Engineering Floor and Field support to CSG Repair/Support and Test Technicians and Assemblers:
• Train on the repairs of the MX15/MX20, 400 series and ""M"" series systems and train with Support Engineer personnel to learn L-3 Wescam and SEO products within 45 days.
• Train with multiple Integration & NPI Technicians, Electrical/Mechanical/Optical Assemblers to learn process/procedures for assigned products within the first 2 months. Observing builds, providing floor support, and reviewing documentation are ongoing objectives to constantly improve the Support/Production organizations.
• Evaluate repair and Test Processes, Assembly Process/Process Flows and define capital equipment/tooling/process improvements/work cell modifications on an ongoing basis.
Integrate and support New Process/Product Introductions from Engineering:
• Collaborate with L-3 Wescam and L-3 Sonoma EO Engineering to develop/streamline process/procedures to support New Product Introductions, Engineering Design changes, and to improve communication and effectiveness between groups.
Assist Purchasing in the selection and qualification of vendors as required
As an ISO Certified Company, it is important to follow internal process to ensure conformance to established policies/procedures and support our ISO quality system by assisting in the development of quality system documentation.

ADA Requirements:
• Ability to use standard office equipment in a manufacturing and engineering environment.
• Able to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects. Acute attention to detail, excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to logically address, analyze/troubleshoot, and resolve problems.
• Ability to Identify and implement both short and long term solutions to problems.
• Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.
• Must be able to sit at workstation, stand for long periods of time, and bend routinely.
• Must have the ability and desire to work well with others

Basic Qualifications & Education:
• Minimum 5 years Technical/Support Environment (EO/IR of preferred but not required).
• Demonstrable knowledge of MS Office, MRP systems, and schematics capture software required.
• Demonstrable knowledge of digital processing circuits, concepts and firmware required.
• Strong Knowledge of IPC Requirements and Experience with ISO is desired.
• A track record of Technical or Support Engineering in an aerospace Support environment is highly desired. Demonstrable knowledge of Lean Support Principles also desired.
• BSEE, or equivalent combination of experience & training/education is required.
• It is possible that this position may require a security clearance; applicants must meet eligibility requirements to obtain access to classified information.
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder) to be considered for employment with L-3 SEO.
• Pre-employment drug screening and background checks standard.
