These volunteers would come over with a basket filled with supplies to make tea, and would sit down with the family/couple and have tea with them for an hour or so to help alleviate the tension.
Hello! I was hoping someone out there might have a reccommendation for a really great place to have a wedding and or reception. We are not made of money and this is requiring a lot of saving up. We are looking for something in eather the north bay or san francisco. Leaning towards Falkirk Mansion but not totally sold. We want BYO alcohol and BYO catering unless inhouse caterers can do it at a bargain. Might go for heavy hors d'oeuvres instead of full dinner and do an early afternoon wedding. Any reccommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I am trying to help a friend who is in a very bad live-in (24/7) caregiver position and desperately needs to leave; however, needs another job to go to. I am trying to assist her and was wondering if anyone knows (besides the limited posts on CL in the Domestic section) how she can go about finding another live-in Caregiver position here in Sonoma County.

Thank you if anyone has any leads of agencies (is already registered with IHSS and thus has an already approved investigated background and fingerprinting).

I'm looking to use someone's wood shop for a few days. I'm working on a little project and I don't have the facilities or equipment needed. I'm a cautious, respectful 57 year old guy and I'd be happy to chip in some money or whatever you need to make this happen.

The equipment I am likely to need:

TABLE SAW
BAND SAW
DRILL PRESS
CLAMPS, ETC.

If you have anything close to a good wood shop I'm sure you would have enough stuff for me.

I'm in Napa but would be willing to drive almost anywhere to get this going.
Thanks!

Please, Please help me!! I am a mother and my 15 year old son was physically assaulted and battered by a middle aged man on Halloween evening, Sat. Oct.31 st., at around 9:15 p.m. in the Santa Rosa neighborhood of Skyhawk, resulting in his two front teeth being knocked out. This man was attending a Halloween house party where both kids and adults were present on the corner of San Ramon Way and Sunhawk Drive. He punched my son in the face four times, resulting in both of his front teeth being knocked out, and then fled the scene before the police could arrive. He was a white male, approximately 38-45 years old, about 5'8"-5'10" and about 175-185 lbs. He was wearing a pale yellow short sleeved, collared, polo style shirt and a dark blue or black fitted baseball cap with a circle or oval shaped patch sewn on the front of it. Chanmces are he had been dressed this way all day. He was not in costume. Maybe he was a parent that attended your childs soccer game that morning? Any help you can give me leading to the identity of this man would be greatly appreciated. You will recieve a very good cash reward and you will ABSOLUTELY remain anonymous. I can reward you through paypal, once the information is verified, to guarantee your anonymity. You can also email me at: disney-rocks@hotmail.com. PLEASE, PLEASE do the right thing and make this man be responsible for what he has done!! There were many people at this party. Someone knows who he is. Please, Please help me!!! This is my child!! Thank You~!!

I don't know what will happen with my marriage. After being together 12 years, today, out of the blue, he told me he wanted a divorce & wanted me gone. I made arrangements for where to stay & who to help me move some things, but, had to wait around town, until, they got back from work. By the time I came back to pick up some stuff, he was willing to let me stay for awhile. We might be able to reconcile, I don't know. We're best friends, soulmates & have so much in common with our interests, beliefs & views. I'm not a saint by any means. I've been unduly harsh at times. Though, I've tried my best to make amends & overall show/tell him how much I love & appreciate him. Just wanted to reach out to anyone else who is in the same boat. You woke up one day to find your world all topsy turvy.

Lesson Trade: Spanish or Chinese Lessons wanted (I teach music) (santa rosa)

My husband and I are looking for a weekly lesson exchange at our house in Santa Rosa. If it works out, we would love to have this as a long-term trade. We are expecting our first child next spring and feel strongly about exposing him or her to a second language right from the beginning. (Or, if we find you right away, before the beginning!) The lessons would be for us adults, but once the little one is born, he or she would be with us during lessons as much as possible and ideally at some point would start to participate. So you should like babies! We are interested in learning Spanish or Chinese, since both are widely spoken here -- and both are spoken around the world in places we would like to visit. We would definitely prefer it if you are either a native speaker or a professional Spanish/Chinese teacher, if not both! However, if you have studied the language seriously (let us know when, where, and for how long) we'd still like to meet with you.

I am a professional violin, viola, cello, music theory, and composition teacher with over a decade of experience teaching all ages, with more than half of my students over the years coming to me as adult beginners. I am happy to teach you, no matter your experience level or background, or can work with your child/family member/friend instead if you like. For more info about my teaching, including references from students, visit my website: http://www.knightlizardmusic.com. Also, my husband and I both play guitar (I play classical, he plays folk & rock) and piano/keys (both of us grew up playing classical, and he primarily plays jazz now), if those are instruments you would rather learn. We also both love to cook, so we could always trade for a tasty meal instead of music lessons, if you prefer!

I have a small amount of Spanish language experience (lessons as a 3 year old, a brief intro class in middle school, and several months of tutoring a few years ago before a month-long trip to Spain). I took a year of Mandarin Chinese in college and have returned to it occasionally on my own since then just to review. My husband is about the same as me at Spanish (he had the same several months of tutoring before our Spain trip) and is a complete beginner in Chinese. We both took French in school and I also have taken a semester of German... but are only interested in studying Chinese or Spanish at this point.

If you are interested, send us an email and let us know:
- Your experience teaching/speaking/studying Spanish or Chinese
- What you would like to learn from us (violin, viola, cello, music theory, composition, guitar, piano)
- A bit about yourself
and we'll set up a time to get together!

A former cattle rancher-turned-vegetarian and food safety activist, Lyman revealed in 1966 to a national television audience, how the cattle industry potentially exposed Americans to Mad Cow Disease by feeding cows the remains of live animals - including other cows. As a result of his remarks, Lyman was named a co-defendant with Oprah Winfrey in the infamous "veggie libel" case brought by Texas ranchers in Amarillo.

In Mad Cowboy, Howard continues his focus on the beef industry and the issues that surround eating beef. Three years in the making, the film is culled from 150 hours of footage and includes countless interviews throughout the world with activists, scientists, victims, ranchers and consumers with opinions on every side of the issues.

Mad Cowboy: The Documentary is directed by Michael Tobias and written by Michael Tobias and Howard Lyman. The facilitator of this event is the Petaluma Film Series. This film will show at The Aqus Café, 2nd & H Streets in Petaluma. There is a suggested donation of $4.00, but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds. The Aqus Café is offering full beverage service for our series this season, so come early and enjoy a snack and drink. Wheelchair accessible. For information, call Peter deKramer at 707 765-0888 or www.petalumafilmseries.com

Hi,

I would like to start an informal network of friends and hopefully turn it into a group of friends who like to process aka talk about emotions, how we really feel, life, and get help and ideas from each other. It would be great if everyone had at least some knowledge of psychology, but an open mind and a willingness to learn works also. This would probably work best if everyone also likes change, as that is my purpose in processing.

I am posting this because I wear some of my friends out because I love processing and that is not a common trait among mid-twenties guys (not that you have to be one!). Nobody should have to pay a therapist to deal with little questions or problems (not that they aren't great or useful at times) just because they don't feel comfortable talking to their friends about how they are really feeling. I think incorporating an activity like a board game, cards, or non-competitive sport would make this more fun. I don't know, help me figure it out. :)
We hope it will be an opportunity for growth and connection in integrating living compassionately.
LOCATION: All events take place at Isis-Oasis, 5 minutes off Highway 101, on the public transportation bus route. For more information about this location view their website at www.isisoasis.org
