Ad agency seeks top-notch fall interns! (SOMA / south beach)

You graduated from college! Woohoo! Congrats!! You made it! Now you’re wondering what you’re going to do with that marketing/advertising degree. Or maybe you’ve been graduated for some time, but you’re looking for a new schtick.

Good news!

Y&R is hiring fall interns!

We’re looking for 6 interns to work with us through the end of the year, full-time in the following fields:

-	1 Interactive Flash Developer Intern: somebody who’s pretty self-sufficient in the areas of character animation, resizing Flash elements, making paint-overs, setting up renders and composites. How hot will a character animation from Fortune 500 company look in your reel? You’ll be invincible! Just sayin’! Send us your link, please!

-	1 Tech Account Intern: An AAE level position. Assisting in production process. Client facing. Team of 5. This is what we call jumping in and hitting the ground running.

-	1 Account Intern: You are the oil that facilitates the moving of the cogs. You jump in where people need help and get it done. “Nuff said.

-	1 Finance/HR Intern: You’ll be doing the nitty gritty admin work. It ain’t always pretty, but we promise the agency experience and entry level Finance/HR experience will look great on your resume and we’re a fun bunch of people to do nitty gritty admin work for.

-	1 Media Analytics: You know your way around Excel like it’s the back of your hand. You can synthesize large amounts of data into actionable learnings, track and optimize online media and help generate campaign delivery reports. And you know what all that means!

-	1 IT Helpdesk intern: Helping people who are less computer literate than yourself is what you do! Must be able to navigate PCs running Windows XP & Office and Mac Workstations running OS 9 and X (Panther/Tiger/Leopard), know how to configure network devices and understand network protocols (TCP/IP). Whew!

A few tips (this is a learning experience after all!):

Do a little research! We love people that can tell us about ourselves! We are also looking for creative and “non-usualist” thinkers. Show us that you are that person (p.s. a formulaic cover letter won’t show us that!). Please also read the job description that you are applying for carefully and, last but not least, please put the title of the internship you are interested in applying for in the subject heading of your email, otherwise we won’t know! Send resumes and a brief cover letter to the address above. Thanks fer lookin’!

Oh, and did I mention we offer health benefits. Now it’s even cooler, eh?

Company Summary:
MyMiniLife, Inc. is an early stage flash virtual world startup with several million users. We’ve been featured on Techcrunch, Mashable, and Virtual Worlds News.

Job Description:
We’re planning on updating the graphical interface for both our website and flash interface and need a web designer contractor with a flair for design. We are looking for someone that has an exceptional eye for color, style, and typography. If you hurt inside whenever you see a logo in Comic Sans or an element that isn’t padded correctly, this is the job for you. If this project goes well, we have additional work as time goes on for custom art and animation.

Designer must take existing site and flash user interface layout and give it a ‘graphical facelift’ without significantly altering the layout. We are looking for a fast turnaround time on this project, hopefully within two weeks or less. We are primarily looking for someone to do the Photoshop mocks and not the actual Javascript/HTML/CSS.

Requirements:
* A professional portfolio of work that demonstrates process, design, and shows a commanding knowledge of user-centered design projects.
* Ability to effectively demonstrate creative and process skills as they relate to interface design.
* A mastery of web standards, design principles, solid experience with typography, color and page layout, information, interactive design and scalable dynamic GUIs.
* Expert skill level in the standard tools of the trade; Photoshop, Flash.
* Ability to take feedback and provide design iterations in a timely manner.
* Ability to create UI icons ranging in size from 16x16 pixels up to 64x64 pixels.

Preference to candidates with:
* Familiarity with Flash UI design.
* Experience with Adobe Flex user interface skinning.
* Local to the SF Bay Area preferred but not required.

If you fit this description, please send resume and a link to your online portfolio to jobs@myminilife.com.
