Knowledge of:

Film and Video processing

Receive briefing or outline of footage, script, or screen play;

Work with the PI and the film production crew to

Create streaming video from video and digital sources (e.g., QuickTime, RealAudio, Shockwave);

Collaboration

Requirements:

PROJECT DETAILS
The artwork is for a book that teaches teen girls how to incorporate fitness into their everyday lives.

There will be a total of roughly 25-30 drawings in the book, most of which illustrate a type of exercise. The illustrator will be given detailed descriptions of the illustrations requested, as well as visual reference as required. Payment will be $25 per illustration.

The book is 2-color and we are open to seeing both one, and 2-color line art drawings. Since the purpose of the illustrations is mostly to add clarity to the text, the art should be clean and fairly simple (though it does not need to be strictly diagrammatic). We will accept vector art (saved as illustrator ai files) or art scanned into or created in Photoshop (saved as tif or psd files). You are welcome to send more than one approach.

Deadline for applications is February 16, 2012. Work will commence February 23 (up to five illustrations for sales materials). The bulk of the illustrations will be completed between April 1st and June 1st 2012.

What you'll do
• Production with a heavy emphasis on copy, charts and graphs.

•Collaborate on concepts with senior designers, managers and executives in fast-moving turnarounds.
•Prepare layouts for release, ensuring accuracy, timely delivery, and thoughtful execution on all levels of production. Release files to vendors and the advertising agency.

What you'll need to do it well
1.Experience with typography. Since our designs include a heavy emphasis on copy, you must be able to work well with type and understand the nuances that work within our guidelines.
2.The ability to balance guidelines and consistency with creative solutions for design challenges.
3.Expert Adobe Creative Suite. Comfort with Mac OS X and the entire Microsoft Suite.
4.Technical skills and knowledge to check for accuracy and consistency in layout, text formatting and preflight. Experience with the technical preparation of print, online and outdoor materials.
5.Ability to organize and prioritize amongst multiple projects, be flexible in the face of constant change and maintain pro-active communications.
6.Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects concurrently while consistently meeting deadlines.
7.Strong sense of self and ability to accept design feedback.

REQUIRED:
Expert level with InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
Portfolio of work
Experience with production level work. Senior designer applicants will not be considered.

We are looking for a talented, part-time, graphic designer to help take the visual identity of the Algenist brand to new heights as we grow, innovate, and continue to make waves in the beauty market.

Major Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the design for a wide range of projects for the Algenist brand including packaging, marketing collateral, training material, POS merchandising graphics, online marketing material, etc.
• Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to conceive and create design strategies for brand communication and material
• Execute on projects from start to finish, delivering mock-ups and production-ready assets
• Collaborate with operations team to see projects through regulatory review and production

Education/Experience:

• Bachelors degree in graphic design or related design field from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Familiarity and experience designing for luxury consumer goods brands; experience and knowledge in skincare a plus
• Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and work in all media formats from print to web
